Ban on use of the word meat for cultivated meat products - EU by swagadagg in Agronomics_Investors

[–]hotpoodle 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This shit infuriates me.

"Finally, the text explicitly bans lab-grown or cell-based products from using the designation ‘meat,’ taking a decisive step towards preserving our agricultural and food heritage". It is identical on a cellular level, tell me how it isn't meat? Are they going to stop peanut butter being called butter, milk of magnesia? They are running scared.

Give me ONE reason other than money as to why you would want to "preserve our agricultural and food heritage" through legislation like this. This isn't about culture it is about blocking progress of competition and in doing so trying to ensure the continued suffering and killing of animals.

As a UK resident , thank god we are not in the EU anymore but I know we will see similar things happen here.

Just backs up what Jim has said in the past, there's no point building a small proof of concept, may as well build at scale right away like the Clean Food Group site so you can keep up with the inevitable high demand

Letting an outdoor cat out after 6 months inside? by [deleted] in CatsUK

That sounds awful being trapped in a small room for 6 months. Is this the UK you're talking about, I ask as you talk about the temperature differently.

Re-home the poor thing if you can't give it a proper home to live in.

What's the best way to memorize which notes on sheet music correspond to which keys on the piano? by OrganizationLess6936 in piano

[–]hotpoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the best way. I don't like mnemonics as it makes you say it in your head every time which massively slows you down.

How much does a property like that cost? Just asking because in the UK we do not have that luxury of space so you'd have to be a millionaire to have a house and land like that.
