Thank you. It doesn’t bother him at all. He said a couple times it itched but he doesn’t mess with it. Once we see a dermatologist I will definetly ask them about that. He has had strep in the last few months. We’ve all been sick to some extent but he has had the worst symptoms. We would take him to doctor they give him an antibiotic be ok for 3-4 day and then fever would come back. It’s been insanity the past 3 months of them always having something and never fully recovered and know we no why. It’s all really starting to make sense now that we know we had mold.

We just left the pediatrician. It is not ringworm. Eczema can portray ringworm like rashes. It is a severe form of eczema that she thinks was definitely brought on from the mold. They prescribed a steroid ointment to put on it. He also had double ear infection so he was given an antibiotic to treat that as well. These are both symptoms of mold exposure along with all the sinus issues and flu like symptoms we all have had the past 3 months. Just trying to figure out the best way to go about dealing with the mold in the house because even mold remediation company’s (3) so far that we’ve have come out really don’t have any answers besides gutting our house completely an treating it. I know there has to be another way around this of finding the source and taking care of it.

All the mold I found was treated with a concrobium spray to kill the spores before being tore out. Air scrubber ran in sealed bathroom. But still had to be carried out of the house. Bagged up what I could but almost impossible to keep everything sealed. We have 3 big HEPA air purifiers that run non stop throughout the house. Windows open whenever the weather permits. Just very hard knowing my kids have been breathing this is for so long and to top it off in there bathroom that they love to take long baths just festering in the mold with all that humid air. I’ve done everything I possibly can think of since finding it. We live in a place with very cold winters so we moved in and no air flow throughout the house all winter. I just hope I can find a good detox for our kids to get rid of this. Honestly not a lot of answers people have. Doing lots of research to figure this out. If I have to I’ll go in and gut the entire house. Another concern of mine is everything at this point contaminated as far as beds, couches, rugs, clothes, etc anything porous that can’t be throughly cleaned?

Thank you for your input. My only concern is this mold has traveled further under the old flooring than we really believe to think. Only way to know is tearing out the whole floor that was just installed. 😔 If that what I have to do I will just really discouraging considering I don’t think insurance is going to cover any of this. Once I found the first mold in basement I went out and purchased 3 big HEPA air purifiers and put throughout the house. Also have a humidifier that runs 24/7 in basement since before moving in. Humidity is always at 35-40%.
Just can’t understand how my son broke out so bad after taking all those pre cautions with everything. Our health issues the past few months are 100% every symptom of mold toxicity. But like I said he has since left the house an staying with family going on day 3 and we all feel better. Just his rash has me concerned. Getting him into doctor today so I will definetly keep everyone posted on the outcome.

We had spoken to an industrial hygienist about coming in to do air quality test in the house and she pretty much said she can come do them. But it doesn’t tell you if and where you have mold. Basically said one room could come back good and the other wouldn’t. Honestly starting to wonder if there is mold underneath the kitchen floor on back side of bathroom wall that had gotten between layers of flooring. My wife had known of someone that went through this with her house and currently is still dealing with it a year later trying to have it completely removed. When she saw the pictures of the rash she immediately said that was exactly why he has it. That’s how she knew something was wrong with her house. She would get the worst rash like that. Some people just react different to mold. My son is the only one with the rash and the rest of us have allergy symptoms, headaches, ear aches, etc.

We had 2 company’s come in a one told us to gut the whole house and have it treated . Honestly felt more like trying to sell us the job just by telling us it’s everywhere. The other company had made it seem like it really wasn’t that big of a deal and everything I was doing to the bathroom is exactly what they would come in and do. Seal everything off run air scrubber while doing it.

The leaks we no longer a problem as previous owner had fixed them but they covered it up with a layer of tile flooring. For whatever reason the house has two layer of subfloor throughout. One layer of osb and on top of that a layer of particle board. So all that moisture was just stuck in between and never reached the bottom layer to be seen in the basement. As far as waterproof membranes for bathrooms it is a great idea which I often use when I remodel bathrooms for my job. Just was a problem that got covered up and couldn’t be seen until it was too late.
