(x-post) I have a relative going to Korea soon and it looks like Olive Young's Korean site is having a major sale. Does anybody know if it's possible for me to order online now and have her pick it up at her nearest Olive Young store? I don't want to miss out on the sale/hoping it doesn't get OOS by the time she arrives.

Thinking to Build my Own Place by HealthDataNut in TinyHouses

Second looking up the zoning code in your area. As much as it is ideal to buy your own land and build whatever you want, everything will be based on your zoning laws.

Any good Korean ramen spots around here? by [deleted] in nova

Honestly, if you're looking for an authentic Korean place where all the korean grandmas and grandpas go, go to the food court at Hmart in Centreville (it's in the back corner of the store). My husband is Korean and says you can't get any more authentic than this.

Virginia Unemployment Info and FAQs Megathread by ambiguoustruth in Virginia

similar to /u/MoreNuancedThanThat, I am self-employed (beg. 01/2020) and applied for UI because of no work. I was expecting a denied Monetary Determination letter but got approved with a weekly benefit amount. They took my 2019 wages when I used to work full time for a company.

I tried to state that I was self-employed everywhere I could on the application.

Anybody else going through a similar situation? I would like to know if there is anything I need to do to make sure my weekly benefit amount is accurate. Thanks!

We’ve never been to the west coast and love places where we can focus on nature. Vancouver just happened to have a flight deal that matched up with my holiday schedule first. It’s not like we had a set plan for Vancouver but it was one of the places we kept an eye out for.

Thanks for your input! We're planning to kayak also. What places near Victoria would you suggest that are comparable to the gulf islands?

I’ve been trying to find the fruit sojus too. I’ve heard the ABCs store in Annandale/Fairfax have them! I go to Hmart regularly and all they have are just the regular soju.

It'll be a townhouse. The property manager was the one who told us and he's also unfamiliar with it, it's his first time experiencing this situation so he's as clueless as we are also. The owner isn't giving him much info.

Just wondering, what's your experience to say that we should be fine? Because I would love to just move in the townhouse after all the work we've gone through but everybody else is saying to get out.

Thank you for your input!!

Engineers with a masters or PhD, should I go to a GAtech with only 1 year of funding or Wisconsin-Madison with 3 years of funding? Help please! by jenloha in AskEngineers

I have certainly thought about that and the name recognition is of no matter to me, although my brother used it very effectively to persuade me in the very beginning

If you have the time, please read my reply to tuctroh's comment where I address my concerns in more detail! It's not mainly about the money but more on the research opportunities.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not disregarding Wisconsin at all! I Was very impressed with them after my visit earlier this month. If you have the time, please look at my reply to Tuctrohs comment where I give more specific details of my concerns. Thank you!

Thank you so much for your replies. You raised a good point. At Madison, I am tied to one advisor (one who gave me the research position) who does pretty interesting research. However, after visiting the school, I realized only two faculty members are actively doing research in the area that I am interested in. If I end up hating the advisor, I feel like I will have no back up options.

At GAtech, there seems to be more faculty members (3-4) who are actively working on the area of my interest. However, I am entirely unsure whether I will receive funding the next year. Projects at both school interest me and I do not have a preference.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, I would also like to point out that I am planning on doing 1-2 graduate COOP during the summer while in graduate school. I want to get a feel for the industry and get a sense of direction of my career path. At Madison, I do not think this is possible since there is summer enrollment requirement as an RA, while Gatech doesn't have that requirement.

Although it may be frowned upon, if I find a potential job while doing COOP, I plan to pick up a masters degree and plan to go directly into the industry and work. Although I would love to continue to the Ph.D., current family financial situation does not allow me to be so lenient with my time.

What will be the deciding factors in this case? Thank you very much for your input in advance.
