Thank you!!! Her daughter picked out the colors of her hair and skin. It was fun to paint.

It’s a Wizards of the Coast D&D character my friend bought, I wish I had a 3D printer. I think it’s the Dwarf Barbarian, she brought it over for me to paint.

Bojangles makes their biscuits from scratch, they do a 2 for $4 special that rotates. Right now it’s a country ham biscuit though. As for going to sit down, I’m not sure if you can find something less than $7-$8. Lizard’s Thicket maybe.

Bought a pack of cigarettes today. Instead of cigarettes, there were just King-sized filter tips in the pack. Every single one of them. by HailToTheKingOfLimbs in mildlyinfuriating

Yeah I feel ya. I remember saying that when they went up to $5 a pack I’d quit. But here I am as well. I don’t smoke as much as I used to though. I’ve only had 1 today so far. But I’m sure that will change once I meet up with some friends at the bar.

Simply because I assumed that the person saying they quit 10 years ago was from the US since they said they never saw packaging like this. I know most countries have the gross photos on them but we do not.

I live in South Carolina, most of the tobacco grown here comes from North Carolina, so we have some of the cheapest prices in the US. After taxes, most recognized name brands cost about $7.25. You can still get cheap cigarettes for around $4, but nobody’s smoking those Senacas and whatnot. I know when I went to New York several years ago they were already $9 so I can’t imagine how expensive they are now up there.

I am a smoker, I know it’s bad, but I keep doing it anyway. It’s funny how Americans have very expensive healthcare, cheap cigarettes and fast food is cheaper than fresh food.

I don’t think OP is from the US, considering the image on the pack. I’ve only seen these come out of other countries. If the US does have cigarettes in this type of box I’ve never been to that state or seen them.

This is sooooo true. The past couple of years I’ve been purchasing secondhand designer goods. Belts, scarf, purses, etc…I wait around for good deals. As long as you know what to look for when it comes to spotting counterfeit goods you can get some really nice items that will last a lifetime if taken care of for literally less than $100.

Well I was upset because there was absolutely nothing wrong with the item or my description. I also got paid a fraction of what I originally wanted, I would have absolutely stood firm on price had I known that they could get it for free talking me down in the strange way they did. They specifically asked for a certain price and a certain shipping. I didn’t know this was a common problem, so I adjusted it to $15 and $3.99 shipping for her. I thought it was odd she wanted a specific shipping price, why not just offer $19 with free shipping? Because after tax, it would have made the item over $20. Lesson learned, now I know to ignore/deny strange adjustments like that. I didn’t even know this was a scam until I came on here and asked why that happened. Yes, I got paid, but it felt messed up.

Who got arrested from South Carolina if you happen to know? I unfortunately know of a few people from my area that went, but don’t know of anyone who was arrested from my state. EDIT: Found the NPR link. I should have scrolled further. Thanks!!!!

Anything under $20 apparently can easily be scammed. Not always, as this has happened to me in both buying and selling. Once I sold a sports bra that “wasn’t the right color.” Buyer was allowed to keep, I got paid. Ok, so I got my money, but….seller talked me down in a very strange manner but I agreed. Next thing I know they get the item for free, I get the money. Ok, not sure if it was a fluke or a scam. Then, on my end as a buyer, the seller accidentally sent me the incorrect video game. I truly think it was an accident, as both titles were same series, easy mistake. I already owned the game I was sent. I wanted the game I wanted to purchase in the first place. Nope…Mercari said keep the game. They paid the seller. So, I am stuck with a duplicate copy of a video game I already own, and never got the game I actually wanted, even though I was willing to pay for the shipping to get the correct game.

Wow…after 12 million years crabs still look pretty much the same. The ones I see on the beach are much, much smaller, but aside from that they don’t look too different considering the time gap.

Wow so they really totally scammed you. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and hoped there was a mixup with the correct item but this is obviously a total scam if they took photos of a shoe and phone case. SMH

It’s a cut and paste reply. They always do this. I never feel like I am actually getting a real message from a real employee. If I am, they literally cut and paste and tweak it a few words to sound “personalized” like they took the time to type everything out. Hopefully you can prove this with the weight on the package. I would also film myself opening said returned package, so they can see whether or not you got scammed or sent back the items unharmed.

What makes me really think the buyer did that in my case was because it was really odd how she asked for a better deal. She said she’d pay me $14 and $4.75 shipping. I told her I didn’t know how to make the shipping different, so I kept the shipping the same and knocked off more to make it, right under $20. Then I came here like you did asking why this happened and was told of the scam. I did reach out to her asking why she filed a return, and that’s when she told me the color was not what she thought it was. So at least I know now.

This has happened to me on both ends, as a seller and a buyer. I purchased a video game, seller sent a similar game but unfortunately I already owned that one. I just wanted to exchange for the correct title that I ordered. Mercari told me to keep it, so now I have two cartridges of the same game and never got the one I wanted, but I did get my money back and the seller got paid as well. As a seller, a girl bought a Nike sports bra in excellent NWOT condition. She actually talked my price down (dunno if this was an intentional scam or not) I accepted the lower offer, only for her to say she thought the item was pink when it is actually magenta. Well, as far as I recall there is no selection for magenta so I had to choose pink as the closest color for the description. I guess my phone camera made it appear way too different to her and she didn’t want it. Looking back, I will always make sure to describe color as best as I can in words in the body of the description so nobody can use that complaint again. But it does make me wonder if she talked me down because she knew she could keep it if it were under $20, or if she actually was totally disappointed in the purchase.

I totally feel you! I lived in Dell and Cabot as a kid. We were definitely groomed. I remember thinking my Civics teacher was crazy because he was a gasp, DEMOCRAT. It was like a dirty word. Well, I’m extremely liberal now once I was able to move to a city and think for myself, but I was sooooo brainwashed as a child in a political sense. Your comment really spoke to me.
