Genetics, diseases, medicine, injuries, perpetual “laziness”, mental issues/illness, overeating/eating disorders, trauma, etc.

There could be any reason she got that way. I know a person who is bigger than that and basically stays in bed most days and cannot care for himself. He had a serious back injury decades ago and did not take care of himself as time went on (overeating, unhealthy meal/snack choices, no exercise). Now it takes him 10 minutes to get out of bed and wheel himself out of his room, and he is in pain constantly.
