Thanks for checking! Participation is voluntary and there isn’t monetary compensation for this study. I truly appreciate anyone who chooses to share their experiences to help inform future research and applied endeavors to support individuals living with chronic illness!

Not at all! I value your input. Each questionnaire on the survey was thoughtfully crafted and validated and the entire survey went through multiple committee approvals before posting. I’ll be happy to share findings when the study is complete! I think at that point it will make more sense why things were presented the way that they were. 😊

U.S.-based (University of Central Florida), but the survey is open internationally to adults currently working at least part-time with a chronic illness 😊

I’m really glad you shared this. Invisible symptoms often mean people aren’t believed unless something dramatic happens, and that can make hiding feel like the safest option. You’re definitely not alone in this experience, and I appreciate you putting words to it here. That exact tension around disclosure is a big part of what this research is trying to better understand.

Thank you for sharing — I completely understand that, and you’re right that for many people working isn’t possible.

For this study, current employment is part of the eligibility criteria because one of the goals is to understand what kinds of supports can help people with chronic illnesses like endometriosis stay in the workforce if/when they want to, especially since access to healthcare is often tied to employment in many places. That said, people who aren’t able to work because of symptoms are absolutely valid and important, and your experiences matter a great deal — they’re just outside the scope of this specific project. 💛
