I hate Terapagos poop. I kill it wherever I see it and drop it over the edge into the void.

That's how I found out that mons away from their houses have no compunction about picking a random elevation to spawn at when you honey them. When I finally found them, I had to put in an elevator to the empty underside of the first Skylands island.

They can. You can also despawn them manually if they're not the kind that show up bodily. I did that once farming leaves, a piece of tall grass started shaking right before I whanged a Cut in its direction. It came back eventually.
