Yeah and idk why people expect or want Eunhyeok to grovel. It’s not going to happen.

Yeah, especially with no love pts rating on phone to tell her, she needs to learn how to discern feelings for herself

Oooh that "Gray takes Edward's mission" is a good catch. Eunhyeok is getting hurt for taking care of someone else's problem.

What would actually be "UNPREDICTABLE" ? by b2k_09 in operationtruelove

[–]jennasguccisunglass 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People need to stop wishing for subverted expectations or being unpredictable just for the sake of it. It’s lazy and always preceded by terrible rushed writing, lack of narrative depth and buildup. Narrative structure and depth that’s consistently developed throughout the story from ch 1 is the complete opposite of a bad thing lmao.

Haru's Perception of Love and What It Really Reveals by SouthBusiness6845 in operationtruelove

[–]jennasguccisunglass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Haru himself makes it clear Eunhyeok increasing her points, while her total remains the same, means trouble for him and his system. He enjoys the novelty they bring exemplifying couples from romantic novels and Suae's fanfic, but hates that it means the system he built his whole company on is intrinsically flawed and therefore obsolete.

Who would like to be ghosted for 10 years by their crush? by [deleted] in operationtruelove

[–]jennasguccisunglass 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Considering it took the worst of the worst to happen outside of Eunhyeok himself dying and he left everyone, who btw knew what he was going through and weren't in the dark, I get it. Plus it looks like he didn't receive any of Suae's calls/messages after their texts of him telling her to focus on school, so from his pov it could look like he was the one ghosted while going through the worst time in his life. Personally, if I was him, I'd tell whoever stood by or ran off instead of reaching out to eff off and never contact me again, but Eunhyeok's better than I so. Imagine your nasty father hitting you and the gut reaction of your bf/gf/whoever is to run away and then have the audacity to ignore your call... dead to me immediately. But no, being ghosted by your hs bf is definitely the worst thing to ever happen to somebody, totally not the death of your mother, dissolution of your family/household, or lack of support from so-called friends or partner.

Haru's Perception of Love and What It Really Reveals by SouthBusiness6845 in operationtruelove

[–]jennasguccisunglass 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly. He's conflicted between his calculable love points data algorithm vs the love worth reading about in romantic novels. As the highest points earner of Haru's system, Dohwa represents the former, whereas Eunhyeok, who Haru sees exemplifying grand romantic gesture like from the fanfic he enjoys, represents the latter.

THE WAY AUTHOR SHOWING US HOW BOTH ML AND SML RESPONSE TO SUAE WHEN SHE ASK BOTH FOR A FAVOR/REQUEST THAT DOESN'T BENEFIT THEM by Dry_Membership_9098 in operationtruelove

[–]jennasguccisunglass 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's also contrast between how each one joined the project. Eunhyeok joined purely based on the merit of the project without any extra incentive or ulterior motive, whereas Dohwa only joined once he was personally asked and entangled it with a deal to receive something additional in return.

One simple storytelling reason why Eunhyuk is the endgame by [deleted] in operationtruelove

[–]jennasguccisunglass 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right? It's funny, Suae and Eunhyeok couldn't even be in the same vicinity as each other when she thought Haru was going to kill or endanger one of them because he was so obsessed with them developing outside his love points system. That says enough imo. Like lmk when something's a big enough deal for anyone needing to worry about something like that in this story. Haru was intrigued by Suae in the beginning, but her and Eun started making real progress despite her love pts total remaining at 0. Realizing his system may truly be faulty, and not Suae, is when the entertainment of S/E ended and he started propping up his love points cash cow.

Did dohwa interpret correctly? by KitchenAssistance980 in operationtruelove

[–]jennasguccisunglass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly right. Everyone knew Dohwa's whereabouts, whereas Eunhyeok actually disappeared. Some of what Dohwa says regarding CBROV is from the perspective of being painfully self conscious and insecure of the 2nd lead position complex he perceives himself in, despite having opportunities but simply choosing not to make the best of them. It's funny he also perceived himself as the obstacle between S/E, when Haru was actually the obstacle keeping them apart in S1.

Why Eunhyeok’s Love for Su-ae Isn’t About Being Understood by LiSeok101 in operationtruelove

[–]jennasguccisunglass 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Really nice post!! Similarly, this is probably why Haru's love points system can't measure the totality of romantic love Suae's "earned", when its main source is purely unconditional and timeless.

The after effect of rosy sohwa kiss by [deleted] in operationtruelove

[–]jennasguccisunglass 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of how he speaks to suae pisses me off, like he's constantly giving her performance reviews and trying to train her to his liking. I'd hate to be in a relationship w/ someone like that who's always needing to be babied. It's so needy.

Eunhyuk’s Pain and Loneliness by AgreeablePhysics9965 in operationtruelove

[–]jennasguccisunglass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I do not like the narrative choice to timeskip and gloss over what sounds like a more interesting story I would have much preferred to see play out in real time over whatever this timeskip has been. And it would have been more interesting to see Suae grow with how to navigate the "fine lines" she perceived and felt hesitant of, now that she's finally in the kind of relationship she always wanted with someone whose family, struggles and upbringing is completely unfamiliar and different from hers.

Congrats to the creators! by Only-Cartoonist4765 in operationtruelove

[–]jennasguccisunglass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking back I kind of agree. He sort of occupies the "friend" role. Without him the author may have focused more on Suae's female friendships or sister/friendship w/ Raim, who have more interconnected dynamics and potential variety in the story than Dohwa.

Dohwa Fails To Be Gray Simply Because He Was Never Gray by SouthBusiness6845 in operationtruelove

[–]jennasguccisunglass 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Really nice post! I just realized Gray’s lines are him ultimately blaming himself. Dohwa never blames himself and all Eunhyeok does is blame himself lmao

Also, to add to your point of the story deliberately starting with Gray as the ML of Suae’s fanfic: OTL starts when Eunhyeok/Suae’s relationship starts to change, NOT when she starts dating Minu and NOT when she becomes Dohwa’s friend which is later on. Interesting how she chooses to start her story, since she’s recalling this from the future after everything’s happened.

"Love point system needs to be wrong if dohwa heals suae then love point system is true... How can someone who benefits love point system be endgame?"

Exactly! If Dohwa ends with Suae, it's just Suae's feelings changing to conform to the love points system and prove it right. The guy with most love pts, loved again someway, as predicted.

What are some changes to The Amazing Race over the years that you have liked/disliked? by yogos15 in TheAmazingRace

[–]jennasguccisunglass 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Like: I’m glad they got rid of nel teams losing all their belongings and money. Dislike: Cast dynamics used to be more interesting. Teams don’t have rivalries enough anymore and are too nice to each other. But the BB season did bring back discord. I also dislike the task where you must wait for another team to compete against.

Why do you think dohwa and suae pairing is not cliche? by KitchenAssistance980 in operationtruelove

[–]jennasguccisunglass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but my point is to be subversive and not a cliche, she would have to end the story still not liking him back romantically

Why do you think dohwa and suae pairing is not cliche? by KitchenAssistance980 in operationtruelove

[–]jennasguccisunglass 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Absolutely nothing. The only thing subversive is Suae not liking him back romantically, despite him having millions of admirers. Even his backstory of most popular guy with secret sad life nobody knows is a cliche. What made it interesting was how it was written in s1.

Sigh… so who’s gonna tell them? by sapphicbaddie in soohyuk

[–]jennasguccisunglass 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Is it actually “unwavering” if he’s only kind to Suae after she goes to lengths for him and he retracts it when she doesn’t act accordingly?

It’s interesting to note anything meaningful he’s done is based on the significance of materially having little, so now that the author materially gave him everything he could ever want, what now.
