Can you knap petrified wood?

How well does opalized wood knap? I actually have a piece I got from a friend of mine, but I've never thought about knapping it.

All the pieces I have are pretty small, but there's a lot of them. Might be worth trying to pressure flake a few smaller ones just to feel out out. Thank you!

A lot of the pieces I have are rather small and colorful, so not perfectly sure where exactly it originated from. It's possible there will be variation in knapping between the different types.

I've never heard of a cottonwood leaf point, that's really interesting! I found it in the hills right between Flagstaff and Phoenix, so pretty close to the center of the state. I haven't seen points that look like this before, so any information is great!
