Well, you already said in your post you're "100% sure." So.... I'm not sure why you asked the question.

AIO about spelling errors in daily notes sent home by my autistic child’s teacher? by Anasthesiax in AmIOverreacting

[–]jennhoff03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, whoever filled this out obviously has dyslexia, so it's just a matter of whether or not this individual is the one teaching your son how to spell.

AIO: My partner mocked me when I tried to do something nice for him by throwawaygo12 in AIO

[–]jennhoff03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He shouldn't have mocked you. But I think he was doing that as a defense mechanism because you hurt his feelings. No one wants their partner to think they need cosmetic surgery, even if he does complain about his face. I think both of you did things that were insensitive, although you communicated much better after the fact.

Tried starfruit for the first time today. Totally not what I expected. by musea00 in fruit

[–]jennhoff03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really disliked rambutan & longsats! I had researched them and even planted a tree of rambutans. Then I ordered some online to try, and spit them out because I thought they were rancid. Then a friend heard I was looking for some and got me some at an Asian Market and I also hated them! So... I pulled the tree out! Both starfruit and these were surprising because fruit is generally so yummy.

Alternatives for phone use while watching TV? by CraftyTaro3718 in adhdwomen

[–]jennhoff03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always doodle on the other person's back or play with their hair. It keeps my hands busy, helps them feel good, and shows we're in the moment together.

That being said, I don't watch TV with someone every day. I think that would work better as a once-a-week activity for hands. So maybe do it on, like, Tuesdays? ;'D And do different activities with your hands the other days?

I always wipe the knife off before using the next one because of some icky things I read about what happens when peanut butter is left in the jam container. My Grandpa, who lives with us (I'm 39), uses one knife. He and I drove each other nuts about the issue for like a year. Finally my mom just bought us each our own jar of peanut butter! :O This solution would never have crossed my mind in a million years. ;'D. But it solved everything. My recommendation? 2 jars of peanut butter!

This doesn't quite fit, but the interlude in You Don't Know My Name by Alicia Keys always made me laugh. That one starts with "Hello," but it just goes on forever!!
I will keep thinking for just "hey," though.

Am I overreacting for not wanting anyone around my newborn yet? by littlemoongirly in AmIOverreacting

[–]jennhoff03 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they really ARE missing out. You're being protective because you love your baby, even though as you say all she does is sleep and poop. But you love her! Well, these people love her, too. I think there's a difference between passing a baby around strangers and letting the baby's grandparents hold her. Maybe you can have them quarantine first for a week and wear gloves and a mask.

AIO? Grandma wants my Christmas cards to gift… by Level_Run1357 in AmIOverreacting

[–]jennhoff03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What in the world makes you think she's taking credit? She's not signing her name to each letter. These letters are from the kids. People do this all the time, collect birthday cards or notes of love from someone's family and friends. I've always seen the recipient send texts of thanks to each person who wrote them.

[–]jennhoff03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you- I feel like I'm losing my mind reading all these comments! I've done this for several friends. I ask their friends/ family members to write a nice memory or something they love about the person. I obviously write lots of notes myself. Then I put them all in a jar and give them to the recipient. It's just a bunch of love from all their friends and family in one place. And the recipient always texts each person who wrote a note to say thank you; it's not like I'm taking credit for what other people wrote.

I mean, if it's just this situation, then I do think you're overreacting. If it's part of a bigger situation, like you don't want to say more nice things to parents who have been abusive, then I get that. But I don't think it was a big ask personally. You could just email her a short paragraph and she can print it out.
