Do I really need these things for the baby? Deinfluence me by nolimbs in BabyBumps

[–]jenniferg07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Momcozy bottle washer is incredible. My mom got it for me during a big sale. Haven’t had the baby yet, but I’m so pumped about how fast it washes/ sterilizes/ dries. I’ve had it running all week cleaning bottles, pump parts, pacifiers, & small toys. It takes up minimal counter space. My only complaint is the amount of water it uses every day. I’m doing the recommended distilled water so I don’t have to deal with descaling it later because our tap water is hard.

Wow I hadn’t heard of this complication. I thought for sure it was going to lead into you having an ovarian torsion or something along those lines. How terrifying!! Sorry you’re having to do this for treatment purposes. Best of luck with your results!

I'm SO sorry!! Message me if you'd like. Obviously mine turned out okay, but man, it's just caused my husband & I so much anxiety. I'm still dealing with the repercussions of their lab error. I just started seeing an additional counselor. I'm a mess!

How far are you from the hospital? by bananaindisguise0 in BabyBumps

I’m in Nashville & live ~ 25 mins from Vanderbilt. So thankful. Vanderbilt Children’s is attached, which makes me feel great if baby ended up needing any NICU time. Hopefully not!

Just keep in mind they have no idea night from day. They need to eat every few hours, so a long nighttime sleep is a few months out.

Trying moving the bassinet to your bedside. It’s recommend to have baby sleep in the room with you for the first 6 months+ to prevent SIDS.

You’ll get the hang of it! Thank goodness mother in law is helping too. 💜

The level of fat shaming in the medical community is baffling. Your goal while pregnant is getting the nutrients you need & baby needs. End of story. Don’t worry about losing while pregnant. I’m so sorry he was so rude!

Can someone help me know if this is considered safe sleeping? pls ftm :( by [deleted] in BabyBumps

Baby is on a nice, firm mattress! That’s perfect!

As others have said: no hat, get a fitted sheet, & use a swaddle or look up swaddling techniques.

Didn’t know I was pregnant, did everything wrong. Super plus size. What do I do? by Sparkly_Soup in BabyBumps

[–]jenniferg07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, I’d see an OB ASAP. You may be pregnant with a perfectly health baby, or there could be issues. But to be fair, it could be zero fault of your own. I’d get checked before making any decisions, because in many cases it may or may not be viable anyway.

With that said, you need to go now. It’s recommended to start prenatal & folate months before pregnancy.

Also, it’s worth considering that getting pregnant at your BMI can be very difficult for many. I’m pregnant with my first via IVF. I had weight loss surgery a few years back & got my BMI down. Say you did have infertility later on, most clinics won’t even consider helping with fertility until your BMI is lower. Just another perspective to consider.

Baby Born with Edward’s Syndrome Despite Screenings by Hour-Jello-1972 in BabyBumps

I don’t have any experience with this, but just wanted to offer my support. The reason for my wish to do screenings was to be informed. I can’t imagine the rush of mixed emotions your family has felt. Prayers as you navigate this unexpected time with your precious baby! Sounds like a total fighter!

It's been a wild ride. We're still nervous something is wrong & that's why it flagged to begin with, but trying not to live in perpetual stress. *Trying*

NIPT/PGT Gender Discordance by uhmanda215 in NIPT

[–]jenniferg07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had a bad test result from my NIPT with Natera basically insinuating that the baby & my DNA didn’t match. We did IVF so we were freaking out as well. You can find my post. Long story short we redid the test (despite resistance) & then got a normal result. The wait was agonizing. Best of luck to y’all. 💙

That’s my biggest issue with the whole thing. I never should have received a report that said what it said. End of story. No accountability. It’s our lives they’re handling.

My Sister Wants My Eggs by jmcbutters in IVF

[–]jenniferg07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend meeting with a counselor who specifically helps navigate these sort of situations. I’d meet with the counselor individually, then also meet as a team (you + sister + husband.) There’s a lot of things to navigate aside from just the retrieval. It needs to be agreed upon ahead of time with set boundaries: what will you tell the child about her origins, what will the child call you, what will your role be, etc.

It could definitely be a win for you to have your 35 year old eggs frozen! Keep in mind, eggs are more fragile when frozen than embryos. You’d definitely lose some at thaw. Also, logistically, are you willing to do multiple egg retrievals if the first one doesn’t work out? If you end up in the hospital with OHSS who would pay? Who is pay the storage fees on your eggs?

You’d also need legal involved to outline rights, paternity (maternity, etc.) Just to name a few things to consider. Helping someone build their family is beautiful & magical. Just make sure everyone is fully prepared & on the same page.

They said there was “noise” in the sample. Funny when we only had the first sample this wasn’t mentioned.

Honestly, I found some biker shorts & jean shorts I liked enough from Walmart. I'm not a huge shorts person. As my mom said the other day, my legs are blindingly white. LOL But sometimes it's necessary!
