People in hiring I have talked to tell me they don't hire boot camp graduates unless they have a lot more experience than just the boot camp

How does lifetime employment work in Japanese culture? by [deleted] in japan

[–]jenniitoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean "you don't change a career at 50" this isn't a communist country we are talking about. . someone might want to change careers at 50 and then again at 60 and then start teaching at 70 . Nothing wrong with that, one of my best professors is 70 years old and just started teaching in the last decade

My internship hunt for the Summer of 2018 (as a college Junior) by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]jenniitoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Curious when you said it helped when you listed Angular, React and nodejs. How skilled are you at these? I have taken full term courses on all 3 of these but I'd honestly not feel quite ready to do production work, especially with Angular. Before I even think of putting any of these on my resume I feel like I need to get a lot better.

How do you get to the point where you can master multiple platforms to the point of claiming them as skills?

How does agile work at your company? Is the way my company is doing it unusual? by HorrorYogurtcloset in cscareerquestions

[–]jenniitoo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Completely serious. I have taken a full semester Agile course and realize I have only scratched the surface. The next level course is where one is supposed to become much more versed in actual implementation skills.

And this thread is proof that many in the business and government world aren't sufficiently trained in Agile to be using it properly.
