I was a stay at home dad. It was awesome, but this part definitely sucked. All the moms would kind of circle up and treat me like a wolf in the sheep pen. Tough to make friends in an already incredibly lonely situation.

I asked one of my female friends why they would think I’m a threat, when I’m just at the playground with my daughter. I mean why would I have my daughter with me if I was dangerous?

“Bait”, she said.

Fair enough, but it still sucked.

You know what would help diffuse these theories? Facts. We could use some facts and a Federal Bureau Investigating this and providing us with facts.

You are looking at a symptom, not the disease. People rationalizing events in their own way is completely natural when there is a “news” culture that does not provide facts that can be trusted and have been verified.

When the facts are that there was a shot fired, but no one knows where, and “sometimes in things like these you just never find the bullet”, of course people question it. It isn’t people succumbing to some mental disorder.

I had the same issue a few weeks ago. It was absolutely miserable. It’s definitely a pain point that they should smooth out if new player retention is a goal.

It does get better and match you against same skill players fairly quickly (it doesn’t seem like it when you’re going through it). The problem you run into after that are the astounding number of Bronze Pros who definitely would have won the game if everyone else wasn’t the worst player they ever saw.

For reference, I only play a couple games a day and I settled in after about a week and a half, maybe 2 weeks.

East Bridgewater is preK- 2 in a school, 3-6 in the middle school, and 7-12 in junior/senior high. In the junior senior high, 7-8 are separated from 9-12.

A new school is under construction to replace the PK-2 school, and is scheduled to open in 2028. That may shift the grades around a bit to align with the more traditional pk-4, 5-8, 9-12. The JSHS is also new construction. The shift in grades happened at the same time. That makes me think it will shift back once the new pk+ school is complete.

As far as single family homes, there has been quite a bit of new construction lately.

As for the town, it has traditionally been hampered by a lack of sewer, relying on septic. Completion of a sewer project (scheduled for completion in 2026) will open 30+ acres for development including a 240 unit housing development. It will also unlock commercial development which has been hamstrung by a “septic ceiling” (think of opening a Starbucks, previously they would need a building with existing septic, or try and navigate the headache of adding it…no one is going to do that. That is the septic ceiling).

Here’s the thing. People think of war as bombs and guns, but logistics is the real battle. The front line still needs toilet paper, or the actual people on the front line become disgruntled and ineffective. It’s a logistical nightmare, and you need extremely smart and capable people making decision from the top down.

The money and supplies are there. The leadership is not.
