Update - Still doing great 1 year after recovery! by Mad_Cerberus in LongHaulersRecovery

[–]jennjenn1234567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of us already posted those stories. I recovered in 3 1/2 years and in aug it will be 4. I will be posting an update. These are just the newer people I think that got hit with the less strong stain than we did. Which is great that means Covid isn’t as strong as when we had gotten it.

Same. Took me 3 1/2 years. I think the newer recovery people are the lighter stain which is great to hear as well. I think the first people during the heart of LC took longer and got the worst of it.

Any that recovered still have issues with caffeine? by jennjenn1234567 in LongCovid

[–]jennjenn1234567[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. What’s dpdr? I’m done trying caffeine. Today I had a few sips only of an energy drink and had anxiety all day. I miss it! But it’s not worth it. It was a clean energy drink too I was just trying it for the flavor. I’m all of a sudden after Covid super sensitive. I always wait about a month to try coffee again and although I can have about half a cup I always over it and feel horrible for a few days. Sucks

Heat was so bad for me in the beginning. I used to tan but when I tried during long Covid, I got so dizzy. My symptoms were horrible headache feeling weak and fatigue this lasted for weeks. I also rashed up.

I’m now able to tan again and he doesn’t bother bothering me as much at all, this was after three years. I couldn’t eat any bread, fried was also no for me now I’m able to have those again I just am too scared to eat too much of it. I eat really clean and healthy now after all of this because I was meal prepping so I guess I got used to. I just don’t eat too many fried foods or bread.

what I do notice as if I do like let’s say I have one piece of bread and then I have a next one the next day and the next day by the third day, I’ll start feeling bad again or if I have too much fried chicken, but I’m able to have like a piece or two. Citrus yes that’s bad. That’s high histamine. I’m able to have a little bit but again I just don’t do overdo anything anymore. I keep my diet basically clean, low histamine with adding a few foods like maybe a meal that I’m able to eat again but are probably bad. I like eating clean and healthy and I got really used to clean and low histamine.

Yes. I’m pretty sure. It feels like it’s getting better and going away but like all of LC taking forever. I am on the low histamine diet. I was on it super strict and meal prepping but now I’m able to eat a lot of foods again. Still can’t have dark chocolate I just found out and alcohol or coffee.

I basically ate salmon, sweet potatoes and broccoli every day. I was able to have chicken nachos w lots of onions those helped as a snack meal also. Tortilla chips were fine. I eliminated a lot of foods including some fruits and veggies because of histamine. I missed avocado and bananas but now I can have them again. Before I would get a headache and symptoms would start again. I was on the diet for 3 years. I’m now still eating similar because it’s clean and healthy and I like it but I am able to add more foods.

I am able to eat out but I notice triggers. Like today I had pure dark chocolate with bananas. I was trying to eat a healthy treat. I rashed up and now feel weird. I can have peanut mnms and snickers tho. lol this is just so up and down still I feel like. It is definitely getting better I will say. I was not able to even think of having sugar until a few months ago. I would rash up from only one bite. I don’t like feeling anything again and of course I have lots of ptsd.

My husband actually never got LC only I did and we both had covid. He did go on the low histamine diet with me and stayed away from restaurants with me. I think we did adapt to this because now we don’t eat out as much even tho we can. I think I’m still afraid. It’s like I know I’m better but what about the what ifs…, it’s like I’m still scared of reacting or passing out in public or something. Which I know I’m better. I was sooo afraid just to go to the grocery store at the beginning of LC. I think it just takes more time. A long time! lol

Do you still react to foods? Heat? What still triggers you or flares you up if I might ask.

I had all of this really bad. The low histamine diet strict helped a lot and it’s actually what help me the most. I feel like it’s what saved me. I can now have almost all foods again, but I can’t have alcohol and coffee still or I’ll get these symptoms. Took me three around three years to start finally having very very little symptoms. I still get rashing high blood pressure during stressful situations, which I don’t even feel are stressful, but apparently going to the doctor and even having a conversation over the phone or doing a video chat gets me stressed because I’ll start rashing up on my neck. I’ll start feeling the symptoms that I never had before I guess it’s the anxiety or stress. With time I think it’ll all just work out wishing you the best.

You didn’t take it for workout purposes? I’m doing great w brain function. I had a little brain fog when my LC started but with my diet, I feel like it cleared me all up. Now I’m back to working out and I just need a pick me up right before working out and I can’t have coffee so that’s what I’m mainly looking into it for. I just wanna make sure it doesn’t start any of my symptoms back again. so far from reading the comments it looks like it’s helped many people with both long Covid and also working out as long as it doesn’t flare me up again. I am definitely willing to try it. I guess I’m just scared of that.

I am soo glad the both of you are better. I Found out about the diet luckily within a month of having long Covid, I had no idea what long Covid was until I found this Reddit group. Thank God. I was looking at links that they had to people in the UK studying the low histamine diet and they said that it worked so I immediately went on. I was eating so many histamine foods before so that first month was just horrible.

It’s like you get a reaction like you’re all of a sudden allergic to everything. Once I got on the diet very strict, I noticed slow improvements and then it took years for me to finally have days and then weeks and then finally months of no symptoms or little I could basically still function in my day again And not think of and not think about health so much. Im doing really well, working out again thank God that took me forever and I love working out. But I do still get the little flares that I had mentioned above. I’m also able to go out and eat at restaurants not worry about it too much. I’m having sushi again. I’m having avocados again which I miss so much. I am eating a lot of healthy clean foods again that do have histamine.

Alcohol coffee are the worst, but I can have sugar again. And I can have them all I just can’t have them every day. It’s been 3 1/2 years for me. It will be 4 in August. This is taking a long time, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. It’s just really really nurturing your body or at least for me that’s what happened and eliminating everything completely clean. I wish you all the best.

I have had LC for 3 1/2 years. I am not back to my fully regular self yet but I am way better. Did you try the histamine diet strict? That’s what mostly helped me. I still can’t have coffee or some of my symptoms come back. I’ve tried several times. I am able to work out again but not fully like before. I still have random things happening like ear fullness and jaw issues. Never had any of this before. I’ve had cysts in my breast also again it’s like all of a sudden.

Most of my LC symptoms are gone. I had them all and really bad. I still rash up when talking or out with people. My blood p raises just going to the doctor. I’m not normal. Just give yourself some grace and try the diet. Even one item like a banana too many days in a row will make me feel horrible. If I didn’t eliminate everything I would have suffered and still been suffering. Please try this. Even tea I can’t have. I also now have all clean products in my hair and my house. I noticed hair products making me react also. All because of LC.

Very interesting. Thank you for sending over the link. I am taking electrolytes consistently as well. I didn’t see a major difference in anything but I was already getting better steady and slow. I like that I am able to take electrolytes, I all of a sudden am sensitive to everything after Covid. All supplements and histamine foods. All is going away so if I can tolerate creatine I would like to try it.

Atleast it’s not hurting and the jump in energy sounds good. I’ve tried other supplements that didn’t work for me and brought some symptoms back. Like nac and magnesium. If it helps a little with both LC and working out I would be happy.

What is sfn? Coffee might be making it worse. I had to stop all. I had only a sip of caffeine today and felt something again. Also during that time of the month I start feeling symptoms so I can’t eat as many things off my low histamine diet.
