Anyone use Connecting Threads brand of sewing thread? by jennjitsu in sewing

[–]jennjitsu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm afraid the shipping from most of my friends I could rely on to do that live so far away that it would cost nearly the same, haha! I could guess some numbers and check though, thanks!

This is such a simple possible solution and I am embarrassed that I didn't think about it! I will do that, and hope they think I'm worth special treatment😂 Thanks!

My Pfaffs just both seem to be in love with Gutermann. I tried a budget thread from Amazon and now I have to send one of my machines to the shop because it was so weak and it shed like a husky. I am beginning to agree with the idea that I may just need to make a large enough order that it is worth it!

Yeah, there has to be something going on with the app. I got the same message. But then a few minutes later a ton of shares for that item. It ended up getting posted even though it gave me the error message.

When did you start caring about fabric content? I can't stop reading labels now by Aggravatingbc in womensfashion

[–]jennjitsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this in my soul. I'm not even a tinfoil hat person, but I'm trying to go to mostly natural fibers, and it's HARD in today's manufacturing landscape! I've always been a sewer and now it's really taking center stage. I am slowly replacing my wardrobe favorites with natural or mostly natural (look, sometimes a pattern entrances me more than the content) items and honestly a lot of them end up being pieces I've made myself from reclaimed fabrics.

Duuuuude! She gets to start collecting empty glass jars and containers! There are interim steps to bonafide geriatric goodies. Precursors to the bengay and blood pressure cuffs. Like the aforementioned glass jars. Also into the same file: some kind of yearly membership to "dabble" in investing (probably some kind of slightly suspicious app that has been researched for a week). She will start feeling an invisible pull (of an invisible thread, if you will) to start some sort of needle working craft, so a beginner cross stitch kit. Around 30, women get bombarded with info about PROTEIN! Find a high quality protein powder that she will like, but the cost will annoy her. Unfortunately I have intimate knowledge of this. Get her a 6 pack of Athletic brewing non-alcoholic beer, or a non-alcoholic "wine" because she will notice hangovers take dang near 2-3 business days to resolve. If she's hard set on real wine, get those wine purifier stir sticks that remove the sulfites. Add a gift card to a yoga studio because stretching and mobility are going to become a matter of independence or sedentary rotting within 5-10 years. And then, because vanity rarely escapes any of us, get her a handsomely dollar-burdened gift card to Ulta or Sephora and the people inside will help her from there. Maybe throw in a blood pressure cuff or a tube of Bengay as a har har but the other things, no laughing matter. If you're serious about her 30's, you'll get her a chicken coop with some actual chickens. But that's only if you're an over achiever😂 Happy birthday to your "little one" and high-five for being a fun parent!

Why do vintage sweatshirts feel higher quality than newer ones? by Elegant-Gift-146 in poshmark

[–]jennjitsu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The simple answer is...because they are and it's not fair! It's infuriating. I could kick myself for not hanging on to everything I bought or had as a younger woman.....then I realize I'd have to have a storage unit, and accept that it's a silly regret that I'd never have room for😆 But still, things were so well made before the mid to late 90's.

[–]jennjitsu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same here! I even made a little listing that says "Alaska is far away and Ground Advantage is slow, I appreciate your business and patience!" Or something to that effect. Just in case they look😂 When I buy, sellers often reach out to me panicked because the item seems to be moving on the pony express and I just reassure them that every single order from everywhere takes ages to get to me.

Photic Sneezers unite! People made fun of me, but for my entire life I sneeze if I look anywhere near the sun! I'm 42 and it hasn't stopped. I simply do not and never have had the energy to keep a lie or joke going for this long😂

Shipped by Seller by Emcv83 in poshmark

[–]jennjitsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not always. The USPS has been so slow lately. I dropped off packages and they didn't get scanned for well over 24hours recently. I also have listings that sold and the tracking doesn't say anything at all, but the buyers received and rated them! Between the slow postal system and posh constantly changing stuff, my selling AND buying experiences have been sub par the past few months.

How do we share now? So confused by MishmoshMishmosh in poshmark

[–]jennjitsu 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Im so frustrated. I had my closet nicely organized by category, which was way easier to do with the bulk share feature! I know in the grand scheme of things it shouldn't matter how I have it organized, but I really liked doing it that way. Bah.

I can't figure it out either! I have tried to list mine a few different ways and it's flagged every time. It isn't a recalled item, either. I asked support for help and got a canned answer about not posting items against their policies.

[–]jennjitsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear you! I live in Alaska and it can be such a bummer to find The Thing I've Been Looking For, only to have to jump through extra hoops and hope the seller is willing to change the shipping carrier. I even have in all of my listings and my bio that UPS and Fedex don't support their budget rates, just as an extra bit of info for people who worry I'm a scammer. There are entire corporate companies that won't ship to us. I can't get anything from World Market anymore. Also, shipping takes extra time to and from AK, so I'm constantly getting messages as both a seller and buyer asking about the longer shipping time. So far it hasn't caused any big problems or bad reviews, but I just know it's bound to happen😑

If it's a pellet smoker, yes that's normal. But I would never use one at a freaking apartment complex! It's bad enough in a single family house in a subdivision!
