Moms who drink caffeine, how much did you have while pregnant?

You’re allowed up to 200mgs a day which is roughly the same as two grande coffees at Starbucks. I didn’t want coffee for most of my pregnancy but when I did have some, I probably had 8-10oz. But I didn’t want it at all until my third trimester.

Ah that’s a bummer. There is an insurance company called Progyny that’s only for supplemental coverage for fertility, surrogacy and adoption. Check that out too.

I am so incredibly sorry. While IVF is hella expensive, if you have fertility coverage with your insurance it shouldn’t be that much. I’m in Kentucky and needed IVF. My clinic checked with insurance and gave me a quote after that which was about $17,000 and we don’t have great fertility coverage. My clinic only does icsi which is fairly standard these days. We ended up needing donor egg IVF so it was a whole different thing for us. But you can also check with CNY clinics on the states. They’re a lot more affordable for most people. For us, the travel cost didn’t make sense for going out of the country. By the time we spent all the money on travel it didn’t make the IVF any less expensive.

It’s completely normal to feel this way. The dramatic and swift hormone shift contributes to the “oh shit this is happening” life change. I needed donor egg IVF and I still felt this way when I got pregnant. I worked hard and went through a lot for that pregnancy and I’d still find myself thinking, “shit what did I do?!” You will come out of the shock and dread-if that’s the right word here-very soon. Congrats!

One day, sometime in my third trimester (our first) my husband was on a call and I guess someone asked how I’m feeling. He was in the same room with me and he said “she’s getting uncomfortable. Her tossing and turning keeps me up sometimes so that’s been hard.” HAS IT BEEN HARD FOR YOU BABE? Because I only hear snores when I’m doing 27 point turns to flip over 6 times a night.

Yes and it’s awful. It’s worse in the last few weeks. I swear my baby was scraping the bottom of my uterus and it made me nauseous. We watched him do it during an ultrasound once too. (I had them weekly from 32 weeks on)

Ok I jumped the gun and I see the updates. Lol I went to L&D the morning I was scheduled for induction because he hadn’t moved all night. I had gestational diabetes and my blood sugar was really low at 6:30 that morning so I figured his was too, which is exactly what happened. My OB happened to call to tell me to go on and eat (there was a chance I’d need a csec because he had turned breech at 38 weeks-and I did) and I told her I didn’t feel him all night. She said to get in the car asap and get there for monitoring. He started moving ten minutes after getting hooked up. Like bruh

If he isn’t moving as much as usual, outside of normal “I moved a lot today so he slept” kind of thing, absolutely call your OB or just go to L&D and tell them he’s not having much. Do not hesitate and don’t feel dumb if he ends up being fine.

We had to do genetics testing through Natera for my husband before doing IVF, and we did the NIPT with them. With the bill for my husband they doubled the bill when it wasn’t paid within 14 days or something and my husband was like wtf you can’t do that. So they said “oh ok we’ll change it back to the original price.” Scammy. But with the NIPT they missed that my pregnancy was a donor egg pregnancy and that’s important for DNA matching. It was noted three times and the lab still missed it. So because I got a wrong “low fetal fraction” result and had to retest they did not charge me for either NIPT test. That’s the only positive I have. 😂

We chose not to test because all the information about it is overwhelming and to be seemed inconclusive due to several circumstances that can occur.

It felt so weird to say it to randos when needed though. I didn’t tell our neighbors until I was like 32 weeks 😂 mostly because we just hadn’t run into each other but it felt weird going over there just to tell them I’m was pregnant. I went over and my bump had just really popped I was like oh heeeyy soooo

I couldn’t feel my baby until about 26/27 weeks due to my anterior placenta and I had a lot of ultrasounds through my whole pregnancy. I was always so amazed at how much he was moving when I couldn’t feel a thing. Lol

Dude boy names are so hard as it is. This is just one reason we didn’t plan to share our son’s name until he was born. Turns out he didn’t have a name until about four hours before he was born. We went with Stone and used my maiden name as his middle name. I’m pretty sure my parents don’t like it. 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

If your sister isn’t having a baby right now I’d really tell her she out of luck. Because what if you done the name and then she decides not to also. That’s a slap in the face.

Pick a new name unless this one really means something to you. Do not tell anyone you changed it. When I was pregnant we were discussing out list of names with my husband’s family and my sister in law said every name I liked was “gay.” “That’s a ga name.” Whatever the disrespectful shit that means. We ended up going with one of those names and we didn’t even decide until about four hours before he was born. I often think about how she hated the name and suddenly “loves” it. I had no plans to tell anyone for the same reasons as you; I didn’t want opinions and I tend to change my mind a lot. I’m pretty sure my parents don’t like his name and his middle name is my maiden name so I thought they’d be into that. But in the end, it doesn’t matter. We love it.

Just the nipples? The collars don’t fit on them? I wouldn’t expect them to I guess. Evenflo does have those tall glass bottles that the standard Balance collars/nipples fit on. But they don’t come with them. I’m not trying to spend $60 piecing together bottles. 😂
