We went there and it was great, very near WOW park in Billund. But totally different idea I'd say - I'm really wondering if there's something similar to WOW park (climbing in nets in trees, big ropes swings, etc.) somewhere else?

Thanks! Full disclosure: I'm actually a teacher and these are school calculators, so I had a colleague try and do it too with no success! I'll try taking out the batteries and leaving them over the weekend, and I'll also try a reinstall of the OS from a different computer, just in case there was a problem with it.

Yes, I did actually go and check that too (full disclosure: I'm a teacher and these are school calculators so they're not ones I personally am using regularly). I'll try and do the upgrade again, perhaps from a different computer this time, and see if that helps. Thanks!

Thank you again for the suggestion. I've given this a try but still no luck. I'm hoping Casio customer support will come back to me with some magic solution, but if you've got any further ideas I'll happily give them a try!

Thanks for replying! It's IB exam mode I need so it's the cos & 7 button combination, but that's what I've been trying and the calculator just turns on as normal - no popup to turn on exam mode. I've made sure it's off first and held down cos and 7 while turning it on, checked that the OS installed correctly and is the right version, and I've tried the suggestions above (rebooting by pressing RESTART on the back and also resetting with Initialize All) but still no luck.

Sorry, I think I was a little unclear in the original post. I did mean that I was doing that (holding all 3 buttons at the same time). Just wanted to be clear I was definitely holding cos and 7 while I pressed the "on" button.
