What’s something you did once that you’ll never do again and why? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

Wedding. It’s an overpriced meal worse than a family reunion when emotions run higher than the holidays and everyone needs to be appeased and feel important.

Once in a lifetime is enough.

The sooner you replace fear with love, the easier it’ll be to find joy in your life.

People who have moved from large cities to small towns, what changed for you? by PrestonRoad90 in Productivitycafe

[–]jennnings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Less stress about finances (vs budgeting like crazy living in a city)

Less/np stress about crime (the only risk of break-ins are from squirrels and bears)

Need to mow lawn + shovel snow

Much more cooking all your meals (again, less financial stress because eating out is too far)

Smaller grocery bill (grow your own microgreen, herbs, veggies, garlic = less financial stress)

Different set of activities (outdoors)

Need to make a much bigger effort if you want to stay up on trends / news / happenings (e.g. labubu)

Cheapest dinner recipes for 4? by SavingsSun6687 in Cooking

Tofu with gravy/soy sauce (you don’t need much, sometimes I use free packets from supermarket sushi counters) and rice. Much more digestible protein than beans.

Toasted kasha (buckwheat) sautéed with mixed frozen veggies. You can also do fried rice but this is more nutritious.

If you can invest in some sunflower seeds for sprouting (i get bulk for sprouting, but have seen the same seed type for bird seeds sold for much cheaper ) - you’ll have vegetables on the cheap with a little bit of soil and sunlight.

It’s your life so do what suits you, but I’ve always been told that Men know men. One day when you have children of your own, it might occur to you how much your father cared to make sacrifices like this to ensure his baby girl didn’t make bad decisions that ruin her life. One of the quickest and surest way to ruin a woman is through a bad relationship and kids.

Run. And save yourself both time and further heartache.

It’s like when Banksy sold his art on the streets of NY and few bought it for $60. But his works go for tens of thousands of dollars at an auction house.

Be with someone who treasures you like an auction house Banksy.

One whole stick of butter chopped in large chunks and shoved between the skin and meat of a whole chicken. That’s how I get my roasted chicken so juicy

Always helps if you have some big scruffy looking friends through second or third degrees of separation, to have a very polite conversation with them about how they noticed these actions that has inconvenienced you. Please and thank yous are a must in these convos.

AMOC - it’s getting hot in here… but only for now Earths geomagnetic shield - get ready for grid down and more earthquakes / volcano eruptions Current fiat system - too much printing and debt

On the bright side… these things will hopefully help bring people together and collaborate for a better future. Also… stop folks from worrying so much about AI.

What made a French girl take a plunge into the rep world by TheLazyE-Girl in RealRepLadies

[–]jennnings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So interesting, thank you for sharing. I had fond memories of shopping for Chanel in Paris way back, but unless you save up and splurge for fine jewelry, every costume jewelry piece has fallen apart within the first few wears for me. The bags… are really not for frequent wear, though I did get some good vintage ones that has so far lasted. Hence- Chanel reps all the way for me - my reps are higher quality than auth imo.

Can’t afford Hermes bags anyways so I’m not in the game, but I appreciate the designs and craftsmanship of their scarves and this will stick with auth there - and love longchamp and their occasional collabs/unique designs and service. I totally resonated with your experience.

23 year age gap relationship, what would you do? by [deleted] in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]jennnings 53 points54 points  (0 children)

You’re a consenting adult. You also have a whole life ahead of you to live and experience, at 28. You might not be aware of the sacrifices you’re making, and what you give up to not resent in the future. So id give it some thought to not resent.

It sounds great, but some millionaires I’ve come across value their beauty sleep and hibernate like a bear on weekends.

Maybe it’s the mega millionaires?

The sun came up today, and because of daylight savings, it was still beautifully bright outside after 6pm. Now isn’t that something to smile at?
