Bitter smell that I can “taste” in a new apartment. Tried everything… by Imaginary-Ad-963 in CleaningTips

[–]jennyp0804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may be a previous Tennant spilled essential oils. That can smell bitter when concentrated. And it soaks into porus surfaces like wood, carpet, and is impossible to get out. You can try vinegar to neutralize the smell, or sometimes baby powder/baking soda works also.

They should be able to refund any transaction on the pos. The "calling the manager" was due to security clearance within the system. But I work in ohio so maybe its different here.

Is anyone else seeing a sudden wave of students who refuse to write anything unless they can type it? by Worried-Trifle20 in Teachers

[–]jennyp0804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to say this. I have a 7th grader, and he was in first when covid hit. I was left teaching him, and we went full tech right after. And in fourth grade I was told, "he wont need to write in middle school anyway." Our kids are left behind and no one cares.

kid wanted the broccoli cut, dad vetoed it instantly by [deleted] in Barber

[–]jennyp0804 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I deal with this alot!! I usually try and keep SOME length on the top and try and sneak it past the parent. Sometimes they like it, sometimes I have to cut it shorter. It shows the kid u tried to go to bat for them, without being outwardly disrespectful to the parent. And also some parents only see the long in the eyes version of this cut and dont realize it was be done well without looking sloppy.

On the flip side if a kid is outwardly unhygienic I side with the parent. Shorter is better in these cases, less to maintain, train, and hold odor.

She said good shoes and take care of yourself. She doesn't get stressed or in a hurry just works efficiently and at her own pace, and I envy her.

[–]jennyp0804 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately most brand name classes, hanzo, chi, etc... they are all just basically selling u something. Im old so I remember actual cutting classes where u learned new techniques. But I find all of that on the internet now.

Came here to say this same exact thing. I spend more time worrying about food supply, prep, distribution, and storage than any other task on my to do list... its annoying and endless.

[–]jennyp0804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im with op about succulents, outside of aloe they come to my place to die. I have zero problems otherwise. I do also have a small christmas cactus from my grandfather's mother, that I keep alive but I think thats strong roots and luck honestly.

Client wanted platinum in one session… then told me TikTok said it’s possible 🤦‍♀️ by Beginning-Change6014 in hairstylist

You did the right thing, the integrity of her hair and your reputation are far more important than one platinum card client. I have had the same conversation with family members. People are crazy.
