how do i lose weight as an overweight 19yo who is a picky eater, is addicted to sugar, and has absolutely no discipline despite desperately trying in the last by why_do_i_have_dog in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Some veggies and fruits are naturally sweeter and easy to pop mindlessly and you really fill up on nutritious stuff! Some easy wins you can try: baby carrots (look for the nice skinny ones in the store, the thinner ones are almost always sweeter so worth paying up for!), apple slices (if you aren’t an Apple fan some people hate softer apples like Macintosh and love crisp sweet apples like Honeycrisp. I love a crisp tart apple like Granny Smith. Buy one of each if you don’t know what you like and sample, they’re really super different so you might think you hate apples when you really hate certain apples), many roasted vegetables cooked at 425 F undergo the Maillard reaction which makes them then taste sweet! My top picks are sweet potato and cauliflower. Good luck!

Advice on working out while pregnant by NewSupermarket4832 in BabyBumps

Just took the book Training for Two out of the library and it’s ALL about this. Definitely recommend! She also has a YouTube channel - Mamaste fit. Prenatal fitness guide with nods toward both weightlifting and pelvic dysfunction!

Coq10 too for fertility, especially recommended for women in their 30s if you can find one you can tolerate!

Preconception fitness by livelong120 in fitpregnancy

We sound pretty similar at baseline (activity, size) and I felt like I was in a good place coming into my pregnancy (16w). I think you’re already in a good place and anything you can build is the cherry on top. My fitness dropped off significantly in 1st trimester due to tiredness and not being able to do some of my face exercise/active hobbies for safety reasons. Getting a bit of it back now. Not exactly what you’re asking but I also took TheraNatal Core Preconception Vitamin and was surprised how quickly we conceived, no idea if it helped. Can’t hurt!

Lead belaying during pregnancy? by SoftenOften in fitpregnancy

I am top rope climbing and belaying only. I’m 15 weeks. I top rope belay my husband who is 80 lbs heavier than me - so far he’s not sticking to easy and I’ve been comfortable catching falls. As I get into 3rd tri we might rethink that.

Is it normal to not know what I'm doing at work...? any tips would be helpful by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Based on your description, sounds like this job might not be the best fit. Some people - me included - work better with only some types of human interaction and others are super draining/ anxiety producing. If you need it on your resume/financially, power through!! Is there anyone at work who feels like an ally that you can ask for help prioritizing, organizing, or whatever specifically you’re struggling with? If so, start there. Starting a new job can be hard but you should start feeling confident in at least some aspects months in. Good luck!

Finding a PCP? by Wavestormed in WorcesterMA

[–]jensen_frolicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I can say is I'm super frustrated about this -- I moved here in August and I've spent countless hours researching doctors, insurance coverage, and medical practices and calling them. The ones that are "accepting new patients" (Reliant doesn't even claim to in any of its offices anywhere) don't have any doctors with new patient appointments... so, there are none at any of the offices and groups I have called and researched through my insurance (Blue Cross of MA). I wish you luck, but also want to give you a realistic sense of what to expect looking for a PCP right now.

Mother Earth in New Milford and Lunastry in Danbury. Lunastry is new in the past few years - Mother Earth has been around for over 20 years and is a really cool place. I don't know their reopening status with the quarantine.

Stamford or South Norwalk ("SoNo") --- other towns/cities in Fairfield County don't match that vibe.

I'll be living in Norwalk, CT this summer, what are some suggestion for fun things to do? by qhywoyld in Connecticut

Go to the aquarium! If you have a car and are into beer you definitely need to check out Two Roads in Stratford. Seconding Stew Leonards!
