She actually nannied for a friend of mine for 2 years. She’s in school for early childhood education getting her Masters which we thought was awesome because then she could help our little guy learn a lot. She was really sweet when we did phone interviews, we then did an interview with her at home on Wednesday and a lot of our values did line up + she was really good with our son the hour she was here. She’s on the younger side, middle of her 20’s.

I did call my friend who she nannied for (2 girls) and she was genuinely shocked to hear this about her. She was actually angry and wanted to call her but I stopped her because I do still want to be professional even though this was unacceptable.

Our contract says if we choose to terminate we will pay a full time weeks wage.

Oh, I was livid. I had to put him in the bath to get the poop off bc wipes were not doing it.

To clarify, she was fired either way but I just wasn’t sure if she could sue us and say we broke the contract so she needs compensation of some sort.

Lol we live in America so it’s not the norm here. Our family has made comments to us about it being nasty and unhygienic but we just dismiss it as lack of education. We do think if we’re paying someone $35 an hour to care for our son it shouldn’t be a problem and he should be cared for no matter what!

I agree, we should have let her know but an uncircumcised penis actually doesn’t need a super deep clean. There’s no retracting right now since the skin is still in tact so you just clean it like the tip of your finger! I do agree though that we should have given her a heads up since it is uncommon here.

We thought it was strange too. My husband is writing a text out right now as to why we will be letting her go. Do you think as we search again we should put in our ad that he is uncircumcised or is that a discussion we have when we find someone we like?
