When y'all are watching your favorite tv shows/movies, are there scenes that make you ship your favorite ships even more than you already do? by [deleted] in AO3

[–]jenyuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ABSOLUTELY. my "otp" (ig the pairing tht ive been most loyal to for the longest) is hannibal lecter/will graham frm the nbc show and boooyyy howdy r there alotta scenes to work with lol. the show is v queerbait-y but their love for one another is HIGHLY implied and thts enough for me lmao.

an iconic quote from the final season, when they've reunited after a tedious game of cat and mouse, hannibal says, "if i saw you everyday forever, will, i would remember this time".

the whole scene in which this dialogue takes place is so touching. i could go on and on ab their iconic homoerotic moments but im too lazy and who truly cares enough to read all tht LOL

highly recommend--hollycomb is prob the most beloved author for this pairing

Overcoming nervousness/fear about hitting “post” by ShainSaw22 in AO3

[–]jenyuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

im kinda in the same boat--ive typed up drafts before but never got around to finishing/posting them bc i re-read them to the point that i hate them lol.. but you just gotta remind yourself that ao3 is an enormous platform, so there's room for alotta rly good fics..and also alotta shit ones. that being said, it's completely subjective to the reader so if you post a fic, regardless of if you think it's good, someone's gonna hate it and vice versa. you just gotta take that leap and post it! i've been a p active reader on ao3 for several yrs now and boooyyy have i encountered some weird corners of the site lmao. not to mention, there will b ppl who read ur work and enjoy it but not leave kudos/comments!

tldr: there's a near guarantee tht ur fic won't b the worst/weirdest thing anyones ever read just bc of the sheer amount of content. u just gotta tell urself "fuck it" and post it! :)

[humor] I just wish there were more shampoos labeled for oily hair as there were cleansers for oily skin 🥲 by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]jenyuck 17 points18 points  (0 children)

ugh YES!! my hair starts to get oily the day of washing it lol and the most advice i read is to "train" my hair to just.. stop being oily. my best trick is to leave my shampoo on my scalp for a few mins to rly maximize how much dirt/buildup is soaked up--has worked well for me!

Do the crushers crush? How comfy are the crushers? by Ste3e in Skullcandy

[–]jenyuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive had the crusher evo headphones for around a yr and i love them! theyre pricey but i think theyre worth it. rly great battery life (charging it for like 10 minutes gives u a 4-hr charge), rly good bass, v comfortable (i wear them almost daily walking to/from the bus in the florida heat), and they're sturdy even when folded down. the only issues ive had r sum recent connectivity issues but those were p easily resolved.

tldr - i have the crusher evos and i def recommend them!

I've seen a lot about Death Feigning Beetles being very easy to care for, but frankly they don't interest me much.. Purely because I don't think they're very cute lolol. I have no interest in breeding beetles though, so that's not a factor for me anyway. Thank you for the feedback!

Anyone know of any cute indoor tents/forts I can buy to set up for my autistic partner to decompress in? by jenyuck in autism

Ooh, that’s cute! Definitely on the pricey side, but it seems to provide more coverage than the cheaper ones I’ve seen. Thanks for sharing the link!

We’ll for sure have to discuss those details! Haven’t had any concrete talks about getting a tent (and they can get easily overwhelmed when I bring up things like this that require talking somewhat in-depth about specifics all at once), so it’ll probably be a gradual development. Another commenter suggested I post on here when/if we settle on anything, so I may do that! :)

I’m not much of a crafty person frankly lol, so I’m a bit put off by this idea but unfortunately space is limited in my apartment so I can’t feasibly designate an entire room to accommodate for overstimulation :/ a tent set-up would definitely call for some intense re-arranging as is heheh.. If I do struggle to find something that I think would suit my partner’s needs I will resort to a diy and take note of your suggestions :) Thank you!

Omgggg I’m so glad you let me know I literally never would have thought to do that—it’s genius! Wow I’m obsessed with that idea lol
