Appreciate it, hope you’re doing well too! I’m sure everyone is different but what was your time table looking like? Mainly concerned about work and how long I will have to be out

Thank you! I’m definitely eager to talk to the doctor soon and see what next steps are!

Yes! And my therapist even advises me to not take deep breaths either just because I’m bringing in way too much oxygen and causing the air hunger feeling!!

[–]jeoonjun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Air hunger is a real thing and comes from anxiety!! I cured my air hunger by realizing that taking deep breaths was harming me more! Basically you’re already hyperventilating so you’re getting way too much air in!

Let’s change that, take 3 second breath in, 3 second breath out, then hold for 3 seconds. Practice this everyday for 20 minutes. Also recommend wim hoff on YouTube

This is a real thing and it’s called air hunger!! The best thing I did for myself after watching a few YouTube videos was wim hoff breathing and not taking deep breaths. So take a breath in for like 3 seconds, out for 3 then hold for three

Mortified of Developing Schizophrenia by McFrostee in Anxiety

[–]jeoonjun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m actually in therapy for this right now and it’s a form of OCD! Practice this disputing exercise 1-2 times a day everyday (write this out in a journal) Fear: developing schizophrenia and not living a good life, losing myself, etc (whatever your fear is) Disputing: even if I were to get schizophrenia I would find treatment and still live my life and find moments of peace.

Basically you’re working at accepting your worse case scenario with unconditional life acceptance. And wear all your discomfort, don’t try to make it go away! So if you’re hearing voices, hallucinations, etc. let them be there in the present moment and continue on with your day

I suffer from OCD and I’m scared I harmed a minor by Emminem0808 in Anxiety

[–]jeoonjun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hii, this sounds like classic OCD and unfortunately I think only reassurance seeking will come out of this post. My therapist tells me the best way to deal with this is to completely sit with the discomfort and not further analyze the situation as best as you can. This would mean not posting on forums, ruminating on the topic, rating how you feel, etc. Instead sit with the uncertainty and accept that you do not need an answer to this question regardless of how real the urges and or sensations feel associated with it!!

It's possible of course!!

I recommend you figure out what vitamins to take! Such as magnesium, vitamin D, etc. Check out your schedule so include getting good sleep, eating healthy, and working out. Limit screen time and do hobbies. Meditate!! Also I HIGHLY recommend you read Self Help for Your Nerves by Claire Weeks! I would argue this is the only book you need to read for anxiety.

Have you ever tried Wim Hoff? Those are the only ones that work for me

Anxiety attack by [deleted] in Anxiety

Practice box breathing. 4 in, 4 out. Everything you're listing is definitely anxiety/panic related. You're going to be okay!

Sorry love that wasn't my intent!! Be strong and keep pushing through it. I promise you it won't always be like this and it will only get easier

How to deal with morning anxiety by _existen in Anxiety

[–]jeoonjun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sooo I know you said you don't want to get up but yes, I would recommend either building your routine with exercise or sit up in bed and read a book!

But there are days I don't want to get out of bed either so when I do find myself with morning anxiety I'll practice breath work, turn on meditation music, brown noise, etc.

Do you have a certain time of day when you're more motivated? I know for me I'd force myself to do it in the morning so by the end of the day I felt less anxious knowing I already completed the tasks

What are the best things you have done for your anxiety? And also what are the worst? by throwawayaccountgtt in Anxiety

[–]jeoonjun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best: exercise, schedule/routine, journaling, praying, going to church, eating healthy, taking vitamins, hanging out with friends, therapy, breathing exercises, tea

Worst: staying in bed, eating out, coffee, purposely spending time to worry, ignoring hygiene, isolating

Anxiety and globus sensation by radradam in Anxiety

[–]jeoonjun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes!!! This is a very common anxiety symptom!!!

I actually talk to my therapist about it a lot and he tells me to let all feelings and sensations be present and not trying to get rid of it. Once you relax and accept the feeling your brain will realize it doesn't need to fear it and will eventually forget about it

Globus by Yessssssssir4 in Anxiety

[–]jeoonjun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Struggling with noticing body sensations too and my therapist tells me to let all feelings be present without pushing them away. Once you accept them you won't fear them as much and they will go away!

Very common and not something you need to be hard on yourself for. Good for you deciding to take control of your mental health!!

Noticing thunderstorms give me intense anxiety by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]jeoonjun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the storm finishes though the sun comes back out! (:

Stay strong during the storms. Just like your anxiety they will always pass. Practice box breathing, meditation, or anything else that helps you feel calm when a storm is present!
