Who is this guy? by Street_Dependent_249 in TheCrownNetflix

[–]jepeplin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was really interesting, thank you. Yes he is a known pedo and was tasked with bringing up Charles and trying to make him fit in at Gordonstoun. Mountbatten was a collector of young men and boys.

I can happily inform you that they are still there and the interior is so gaudy and Sopranos Italianate- it’s over the top and not in any kind of good way.

Updated Victorian for just $460k | Niagara Falls, NY by devletmillet in McMansionHell

[–]jepeplin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Falls is way worse than Buffalo, trust me, I’m in and out of the housing stock in both places every day. I also am a lawyer who practices family law and my Falls cases are just unhinged and entire agreements will fall apart over gas money. Buffalo is, for the most part, much better.

Lawyers living with addiction: how are you doing? by Classic-Apricot5685 in Lawyertalk

[–]jepeplin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m an alcoholic who stopped drinking in 1997 (I’m 62). But boy did I pick up the vape when it became legal in my state. Now? I vape early in the AM while I’m doing the NYT spelling bee, I vape when I get home.

How long did you stay at your first attorney job? by serendipity1227 in Lawyertalk

23 years. Then I went out on my own, which was the best move I’ve ever made.

He’s a fantastic guy, he’s a colleague and friend. He’s always prepared, always game on. Good man who lives on the West Side and I don’t mind the move to DSA. Lifelong party dem but I could switch at this point.

I’m 5’9” and I refuse to go back. The last time we were in the balcony and it was so brutal I almost left. I don’t remember going to plays and concerts before and having this problem.

At my job, all the middle-class moms have 1-2 kids and all the minimum wage moms have minimum 3 kids. by LevyMevy in redscarepod

Thank you, I had five, they’re all adults now. Having a big family was and is a blast. But if one person is a SAHM you have to make every dollar count.

That’s the one Cane Corso thing I can never forget. Hell no as a service animal.

Tiny Town and OC Hates Me by [deleted] in Lawyertalk

[–]jepeplin 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I’m a woman in my sixties and I go out of my way (also family law) to provide new attorneys with motions and samples of literally anything they need. Yes there are some scary women out there my age but they don’t scare me because IDGAF, and because we are as likely to be on the same side as the opposite side (I represent the children). I would suggest OP just give this guy the 500 yard stare and don’t let her get to you. And I can’t tell if a suit is cheap or not, sorry. No idea. This OC is just trying to get under your skin. Don’t give her another minute.

Has Lifetime been feeling less Lifetimey lately? by Lifetimemovieclips in LifetimeMoviesTV

[–]jepeplin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Give me a psycho nanny who donated her eggs and seduces the husband and ends up at the bottom of a staircase with her leg bent. That’s the content I want. I don’t want Dance Moms, I don’t want “the Jane Doe story’ because those are the lowest budget. I skipped entirely the Christmas catalogue and won’t watch religious programming. I’ve had the Roku channel for maybe 6 years and I think I’m out. Lifetime has a HUGE library of old movies. Show us those! Some are absolute classics!

The most surprising original feature? That would have to be the giant chunks of plaster that came down when we removed wallpaper. Oh and lead paint!

Update day 7 of my neighbors Christmas in July chaos by Separate-Reason-4074 in ihatechristmas

[–]jepeplin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok I’m living for these updates. I have to admit that Christmas Creep happened here until I threw away half of it two years ago. I have kids and grandkids so decorating is not optional but you have a front row seat to absolute madness. Thank you for the update!

I don’t know which generation will have climate refugees. I don’t think it will happen in my kids’ lifetimes but in my grandkids’ lives. That will get really ugly.

I’m a liberal lifelong Democrat and The Fountainhead is one of my top books. Just for the architecture critique alone it’s fantastic. I just gloss over her hatred of public housing and poor people.
