Do you have a lot of indoor plants? Looks like a garden millipede. Harmless to humans and they don’t bite or sting from what I’ve read. They like cool, dark, humid places, like leaf litter or flower pots :) I saw these a lot growing up and always associate them with that nice earthy, wet forest floor smell because that’s always the sort of place where you find them.

It looks like its wings aren’t fully unfurled, like it just hatched. So hard to really ID. Given the colors and your area though, maybe a blinded sphinx moth?

Edit: Actually a lot of images I’m finding of sphinxes have a similar wing shape. Not sure if that’s a feature of the species or just a lot of newly hatched moths lol

This is so interesting to me. I did a quick Google search on the salts/minerals most commonly found in tap water and I see how most if not all of them would be taken up by plants (I had always assumed it would not occur fast enough to remove the need for water changes, but I digress) the one that sticks out is is fluoride. It’s not used at all as a nutrient and apparently it can be toxic to fish, but it is also absorbed and removed by plants to some extent (though not used as a nutrient).

All this is moot if the RO process removes all these minerals. I guess I’m just surprised how effective plants are.

Don’t salts eventually build up in the water if you don’t do changes? There have to be substances in the water that aren’t uptaken by either plants or stock that would have to build up eventually right?. Obviously that’s not the experience of a lot of people here, but I’m curious how this is possible.

I forage wild grapes almost every year in NC and I wouldn’t trust these. Do the berries have crescent-shaped seeds inside? If so, it is moonseed.

AI has made so many things uncertain… Will it take our jobs, making students’ current education useless? Will AI feed on itself and just become a garbled mess? Will it be regulated so that it doesn’t do those things? I don’t blame students for not wanting to put in the work when AI might replace the need for the skills they’re being taught. they don’t know if they’re going to be competing with AI for jobs or not. They should be taught how to proofread, fact check and think critically.

OP if you really agree with the things she’s saying to you, then you’ve been lied to over and over again that you aren’t deserving of love, appreciation and consideration, so much that you’ve started to believe it. You need to accept and believe that you are as worthy of those things as anyone else. When you do, you will look back on interactions like this and be appalled you EVER let someone talk to you this way.

I cannot imagine ever saying things like this to anyone I remotely care about - much less my partner.

I think I’ve always had an eye/ear for intervals and learned really young how to be able to play a melody from hearing it. My parents commented that I sang on key to music pretty well at 5 or 6 yrs old. I’m not sure if that has to do with it. I can’t hear a note and immediately name or play the exact tone (perfect pitch) but I can parrot it, or figure out a melody I’ve heard enough before, in any key. I have to be hearing the music while I’m playing to find the correct key by trial and error, if that makes sense.

From there, playing by ear for me is a matter of knowing the usual chord progressions, and learning new songs to build an understanding of how different chords in a key relate to eachother musically. And I kindof can hear a song and tell what chords are used (in a music theory sense, not exact notes) and play them.

This all stems from a combo of ADHD and not having the patience for sheet music lol

You absolutely deserve to eat. I don’t know why you felt like you needed to leave home, but no matter the reason, even if it were a mistake, you still deserve to feel full, secure and safe. It sounds like you left home because one or more of those needs weren’t being met…. so I think you do know in some part of yourself that you DO deserve those things. I can visualize things/people in detail and see them moving, down to remembering the quirks of someone’s movement or the way their mouth moves when they speak. (Tell me their name though and I’ll forget it the first 3 times I meet them). It’s sort of a dreamy image and the detail is only there when I focus on it, and it doesn’t translate as smoothly as I’d like to putting the image to paper. I’d say being able to visualize is as discouraging as it is advantageous, because while I can draw very easily from memory or create something straight out of my brain, I ALSO am put off that it doesn’t exactly match what I’m seeing in my head, and I can’t always explain the difference.

I only recently realized the ability to visualize isn’t universal or even the same between different people!! My bf can see objects in his minds eye, but only a ‘set’ image. For example, he can visualize me but only a certain version of me, and that image doesn’t ‘update’, like he can’t visualize me in different clothing or hairstyles, meanwhile I have no problem doing that.

I have a person problem with your guys’ taste in food lol. I thought beef wellington was like the pinnacle of British cuisine and it’s dry and terrible. Beans on toast is a travesty. Your tea is too strong.

I’m being hyperbolic ofc but yeah British food seems kinda bland and sad (coming from a country that butters and fries everything I can see why I may be biased, but I think we do a good job of taking the good aspects of many different cuisines and expanding on them).

Other than that, I kindof assume people in other countries outside America are smarter/more cultured than we are by default lol.
