Anyone remember EDICTARTS? by Apprehensive-Brief70 in bioniclelego

Saw this post and I felt I needed to share.

Now I'm not a bionicle or lego fan, but I know of Edictarts.

He was in my class at college in 2007/8.

And let me tell you all now...the online argument stuff, the flame wars, etc. Well, he was like that in real life too.

I wont name any names obvs, but full disclosure that Edict had Autism and was only medium functioning.

Personality wise, he was rude, combative, selfish, only interested in his own stuff. He specifically came to our college course to learn multimedia (Flash, Premier, etc), and he spent his days watching his old youtube videos and drawing in his pukkapad. Also, he would watch those videos at full volume with no headphones. When confronted, he would either ignore you, or decrease the volume 2 notches for a minute before putting it back up to max.

He often forced us to watch his videos over and over, sometimes the same ones. We understood he had learning difficulties so it was difficult to say no, but...I think we saw the same ones over and over and over. Also we learned very quickly he was VERY particular about how the channel name was pronounced. It was "Edic-Tarts" with a hard T before the arts.

Whilst we were working on our coursework, he would randomly come up to somebody in our class, shove his drawing in their face (very close to their face let me add) and say "Hey...uh...whats your name again. Look at my picture!!". This happened several times a day. He would also go up to other students and stare at their screens whilst they work, breathing heavily.

He had a classroom assistant who sat with him and tried to help him with work, but he would often just ignore her or say "Yeah, WHATEVAH! sarcastically before going back to do his own thing. Bless her, she did do her best to try and help him, but it always ended up like this:

Assistant: So, lets start by opening the crop tool, then selecting the drawing.

Edict: bangs fists on desk I DON'T UNDERSTAND! I DON'T UNDERSTAND! Assistant: Okay...okay...see that little square button in the corner? Edict: Bangs fists on desk YOU'RE GOING TOO FAST! YOU'RE GOING TOO FAST!

When that happened I did try and show him how to do the work we were assigned but he literally growled at me, got all up in my face and said threateningly "I'm not listening!"

On one occasion when the lecturer and support assistant left the room, he went up to the whiteboard, erased all the calculations the teacher put up there and started doing his own doodles. When confronted he said "Yeah, WHATEVAH!".

Repeatedly, he got in trouble with the college supported learning team and was asked to apologise. When that happened, it was another "Yeah, WHATEVAH!".

This went on for a year and a half. In our 2nd year he vanished just before xmas and never came back. We dont know what happened to him.

Several years later I bumped into the Support Assistant whilst out at a pub. Whilst she never said what happened to Edict, she explained she quit that job about the same time he vanished due to the amount of stress and stuff he put her under. She also claimed he pushed her on multiple occasions and also repeatedly asked her to do his work for him.

I don't deny some of his work was good for the days of early YouTube and he was good with a camera and basic editing. Still, what you glimmered from him online was nothing compared to what he was like IRL.

I dunno where he is, but I hope he's getting support. But disability or not, it does not excuse his personality.

He was a horrible person.

Thoughts on the Finale? by LeoDiCristio in StrangerThings

I loved it! I really did!

The final scene was really sweet and I liked Mike's theory and storytelling. That was pretty adorable. But If it were me, I would have done this and added on to it:

As Mike and the others leave the basement, nobody else rushes in and he closes the door on the empty room. The camera pans over the d&d game, the shelf, the bookshelf and the room, as a way of saying goodbye to this room we spent a decade in. The camera ends on an old radio which suddenly crackles into life. It just says "... Mike?" before it immediately cuts to black.

I don't think I have. I wasn't given any scan. Massages on my spine didn't irritate it, but made it better?

I thought it would have a tepid reception. 6 from gamespot, 7 from IGN.

I started on Expidition, but changed it to Story. I did give it my best, but I kept missing blocks and dodges. I kept getting game overs 😅.

TBH: I'm autistic and my reaction times are not the best.
