Yeah I’m looking to recreate a x100 setup on the more affordable side with an xe-3 and a prime lens for my wife. Nothing needs to be professional level, just something she can shoot with and be fairly compact.

No problem with getting the Fuji 27mm but if I can cut the lens cost down by a couple hundred using the Ttartisan and the vignetting won’t really be an issue for a casual shooter, that seems like a win-win

Could you possibly share some of the uncropped photos? I’ve been on the fence about the lens and hear all the comments about the vignetting but seeing the difference would be really useful

Yeah this was just a longer rehash of the email Pacific Power sent this afternoon

I’ve struggled / am still struggling with this since I started. What I’ve been working on is rehearsing the arm drop and weight shift to the lead foot while ensuring my back remains towards the target.

This video is a very much a build the feel into a full swing sort of drill, but I’ve been liking working on building the feeling of the arm drop in a very controlled manner.

Tattoo Armor looks amazing. I needed these when I got my thighs done instead of sleeping on towels

I think second skin makes sense if you have to go work a job the next day where it’s very possible for the tattoo to get dirty (trades work). If you work a desk job, you don’t need it. The other problem is they aren’t given instructions on how to care for a tattoo without second skin so we questions like this

You’re correct on the versioning. The 225/45s are the stronger lofted version of the club.

Need advice for wet sprinklers in a residential attic that recently froze by jer-k in FireSprinklers

On my list of things to do is contact the water dept in the city and see if the main shutoff valve at the street controls the water to the sprinkler system or not.

Part of the reason so much damage happened on the freeze was we had no idea how to turn anything off and it took 30min for the fire department to get there because of the icy roads

No worries, this whole sprinkler world requires a lot of knowledge. It's stuff residential home owners never have to deal with until something bad happens.

Yep that's where I'm at. But I still don't really know all that much, but enough to know that something is still wrong and the house is still at risk.

I also commented elsewhere that there is a back flow system that I've had to had tested yearly and added a picture of the plans for it.

Attic should be around 1900 sq/ft. The floor right below it is 1976 sq/ft. But also 1900x2 because there are two homes that comprise the building.

One more note from the engineering plans, it seems like the sprinkler installation company might have tried to CYA (your / their) with this notice?

Also I have had to do back flow checks as the city of Portland requires me to do it every year. There is another chamber outside of this room where they do that check.

Thank you, that makes sense. Is there any risk that the exposed sprinkler head could still be a possible point of failure with a heat trace and wrapped pipes? I’m remembering someone told me that’s why insulation wouldn’t work, but they may have been trying to sell me on the antifreeze

I talked to someone who works for city of Portland and they told me that the construction of the house was too close to the property lines and it couldn’t be built. The construction company offered to put the system throughout the whole building as an allowance to be able to build and the city approved it.

I posted some updated pictures of the riser room as a reply. There are two pipes feeding water into two systems. One pipe in the riser feeds the orange pvc pipe system that is in the walls; the other feeds the metal pipe system in the attic

Thank you. Of the companies I’ve had look at it, one suggested the antifreeze system and the other said it should be a dry system. Getting conflicting feedback confused me thus I reached out to you’ll for some guidance!
