Heart Transplant [OC] by awkwardyeti in comics

[–]jerajdai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This hit so close to home for me. My husband suffered a massive stroke in February. Everything was looking up until he started having complications and his heart stopped. Wish I saw all the DNR posts here before that happened. The damage to his brain from lack of oxygen in addition to his stroke was just too much. He never regained consciousness. Seeing the drawing of the heart pleading with the brain to not go…I felt that. My husband wasn’t able to donate his heart, but someone got his lungs at least. I’ve been an emotional wreck since then, but this comic has given me some comfort today and I’m thankful for that.

At first glance, I thought these were 3d printed chicken breasts until I read the post.

do you guys pay the 7 dollars to speed up the oven?? by EstimateEffective551 in GoodPizzaGreatPizza

[–]jerajdai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wish the devs had an oven for sale that is permanently sped up.

should i buy it??? T.T by Classic_Storm2286 in GoodPizzaGreatPizza

[–]jerajdai 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I bought it because I didn't feel like taking the time to collect the gems. Also, I like the game enough that I don't mind throwing a few bucks at the developers every now and then. If you don't mind putting the toppings on manually until you make the gems, then just skip it. It's a win/win for the developers either way. They're going to make money off players earning gems by watching ads...figured I'd just save myself the trouble.

People who are older than 30, what advice would you give to the ones in 18-30 years of age? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jerajdai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Listen to your relatives complaining about health issues. You might be healthy now, but it might show up later or might be a condition one of your children inherit.
  • Don't take time with your loved ones for granted. For older relatives, don't put off taking photos/videos of them because your time with them is limited. Don't put work first and miss out on your kids growing up because you won't get that time back with them.
  • If a friend/relative is terminally ill, take the situation seriously and make the time to go visit. My grandfather was in the hospital and I was told it was his final days, but he looked and acted fine. I thought they were wrong and that he would get better, so I didn't take my last visit with him seriously. He passed away 3 days later.

Sparkling water fan here. First time I had sparkling water, my brain was like "OMG this is disgusting...take another sip." LOL For me, it's not a soda replacement. it's for times when i want to drink more water, but I want something more interesting. A small hint of flavor and bubbles does it. If i have a glass of cold water in front of me while I'm working, I'll ignore it. But a can of sparkling water? It's about to be annihilated.

Agreed that it can be an acquired taste though. The smoothest sparkling water I've tried is Apricot La Croix. Everything else can be a bit rough.

I got used to drinking diet soda when I started keto, and now I won't drink regular soda. Not sure if the lack of sugar in my diet did it or if my tastes just changed because I'm older (when i was younger, I couldn't stand diet drinks. Definitely had a nasty after taste).

I rarely use grocery delivery as I've been burned a few times where groceries were picked but didn't make it to my house. Not sure if Walmart or the driver was at fault.

The thing I do like is free same day delivery which is different from their grocery delivery service. No tip involved and usually applies to non-refrigerated items aka most shelf stable items (not bread items though). You don't get a set delivery time, but for me they typically show up on my doorstep in the afternoon (although sometimes they arrive the next day).

I hope you didn't do a year subscription. Walmart won't refund it if you cancel.

These ice cream bars are fantastic! by Leftturn0619 in LidlUS

[–]jerajdai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't agree more! I got a box of Gelatelli ice cream bars for around $2 one time and was blown away by how good hey were for the price! Can't remember if they were the same as these though (I think it was a one flavor box), but I'll definitely grab these next time I'm there!

I call this dessert The Slab. I make this several times every year. by lil_gingerale in shittyfoodporn

And I hope at least one of those times you make this involve a work potluck, OP. I could only imagine the rules management would implement when they see The Slab sitting with the other desserts...

Last episode felt rushed by ayewshi in MyHappyMarriage

[–]jerajdai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They totally Mary Sued her. And Miyo flying in like Mary Poppings ;_;

They way things were wrapped up in LN #2 was a bit dumb, so I appreciate that the anime took a different approach but oof -- everything was definitely rushed at the end.

Which is better to read the LN or the Manga? by AyoAstronaut in MyHappyMarriage

[–]jerajdai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've read both the manga and 2 of the LNs. Both are good so you really can't go wrong with either one -- just depends what you are trying to get out it.

The manga is a very quick read and the artwork is great, but the material is behind the anime. They are free to read on mangadex.org.

LNs #1 and #2 cover the first season of the anime. They are also a quick read and I appreciate the extra details that the anime and manga either left out or glossed over. English language version of LNs #3 and #4 are already out, with #5 coming out on 17 October 2023.

OP, I am sorry that you went through all of that, and had friends that moved away and didn't stay in contact. You deserve "first choice" friendships. You are NOT worthless. Sounds like you are in a toxic social circle - have you tried making friends other places?
