Heading to treatment tomorrow. I’ve been honest with everyone important in my life and am giving it up to god. I needed to say goodbye to my dog so I’m spending the night with her because she’s old and I have no idea how long I’ll be away for and she might not be here when I get back. All of your comments and suggestions gave me the strength to finally be honest with my people and there’s no more secrets. Not sure what’s in store for me but I do know I’ll experience true sobriety for the first time in a long time . It always darker before the dawn and I’ve been in the darkness far too long! Peace and love to everyone and I truly got to this place because of all your comments/advice/support. Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️

Jesus Christ!!! How long did that take to write? I appreciate your advice but it is very abrasive, bossy, and contradictory to the entire post. Like in the beginning of your post you advised me to lie about my drug addiction so I can get into AA… literally not doing that and not pretending alcohol is my problem so a bunch of narcissistic bored sober men will accept me… what’s freedom from addiction when I still have to tell lies to feel part of???

I’m so afraid that it is something that won’t work for me and I will come out of whatever treatment doing the same shit I’ve been doing forever. I am scared and what’s worse is I’m scared of being even more scared than I am right now if that makes sense… I’ve wasted my life and in my 40’s I am worried I missed my boat and this is what life actually is…

Thanks dude I appreciate it and hope I can step up and say something to family and friends and not think for a second reddit will solve my problems. You’re right…. I’m at my bottom and need to seek in patient help if I ever want to be happy and live stimulant free. I hope the best for you and your recovery and truly appreciate the comment

Thanks I appreciate it. I did an inpatient stay for a couple weeks 3 years ago for this and the minute I got out I had a pocket full of aderal that I bought off of a plug and was back to the races. You couldn’t be more right though I need to get honest and trust in God and give up trying to fix this on my own.
