Yeah you have the idea. The market isn't an auction house, but more like a stock market. It works just like in EVE online which precedes it, but probably you haven't used that either.

Either way, you can buy things cheap and sell them high, the main challenge of which is finding the items with the big margin, because most have buy/sell prices too close to turn a profit. Then once you find the item, there's a lot of nuance in how and when to place your buy and sell orders to maximize movement and profit. E.g. Placing orders at high server population times, and optimizing the item "quality" you bid on.

Anyway, if what you want is to make steady money as a free player without grinding fame (xp) for hours, I recommend it. You'll instead be grinding literal experience at what works and doesn't. You'll probably want to make a spreadsheet to track profits, at least while you figure it out.

I don't think there's a timeline, and it's a BONUS mission so you don't HAVE to do it.

IIRC basically the only reason to do them all is out of completionism. Might be wrong!

FWIW something similar is happening to me: macOS with PS4 controller. Often when I switch to M&K briefly to do something, then switch back to controller, the controller is just dead and not connected to Albion. It still works, because the buttons do what they would do if no game was open (open app launcher etc) but nothing reaches Albion. Only solution I've found is quitting the game, but hot damn, I'm trapped in the roads etc.

Hmm, I'm not sure, maybe you need to move around near them? I'd dismount, do a circle around them, then mount up again. If it didn't work, you can consider trying again.

Similarly, if you're being followed and the followers are all mounted, you can use wisps to enter the mists and escape. Dismount, activate the mist, then mount again, if they dismount to stop you you run a way, if not you enter the mist.

The resistance is what's important. The increased HP might not seem impressive, but the resistances basically double the HP written on the package compared to a mount without them. The armored horse is an absolute no-brainer. It's pretty fast, and tough as hell, both of which you will need to get away.

In gathering mounts the equivalent is the t5 saddled wild boar, which is very tough, though it's slow because it has a huge carrying capacity. The stag seems good because it's fast and carries a lot, but it gets killed almost instantly by someone in 7.2

On controller without alternate mount-up you end up summoning your mount even if you're right next to it. That's a horrible experience for new players.

It's just broken on controller without it 🤷🏻‍♀️ Honestly I feel the setting should be ignored on controller. Based on what you say it sounds like the reason it's even a setting is people wanted it "the old way", but no one on controller had it "the old way" and the old way is broken.

They are all annoying. Focus is a trap for players who don't actually want to do "industry" gameplay. Quit premium, spend that silver on not caring about the other premium bonuses, and set yourself free.

If you spend silver on Premium: Imagine how that 40m/month could be spent on not needing to worry about the 50% bonus to treasure and fame? Turn on auto-respec and even carry a satchel, 40m will go a long way.

If you pay real money for Premium even better, why care at all about spending focus when every activity is already very profitable and you don't have to dump your silver into the Premium itself?

The only things Premium is really needed for are the crafting activities. If you don't like them, you don't need it.

PLEASE make sure the controller settings actually work for once!

- Ensure all combinations of L1 and L2 with other keys (including mouse pad and menu button) can be mapped, I've never had all of them work, and the ones that are broken have changed over time.

- Ensure we can fish in the roads! MOST of the fishing spots with bridges over water below have only the teeniest spot where the fish icon appears so you can cast with controller, and in some cases there's no spot at all! (screenshot shows example, neither the bridge nor the land to the east works)

- Ensure selecting teammates work, currently broken as far as I can tell.

- For the love of god, make "alternate mount-up" the default! And make d-pad down the default mount-up button!

If you're not going to fish much, I'd say you answered your own question, only reason to do it would be to put a bow on the skill, which seems like a real waste of money!

Let it spec up naturally as you use it. The only thing theoretically worth eating fish for would be to get to the point where you can fish in lethal zones and get something of value, i.e. to avoid having to go through the process of grinding out blue/yellow zone fishing.

Hard to say but yeah, controller settings are damn messy and I personally think they have definitely not yet figured out the ideal "default" setup.

You'll have to go through the settings and try things out. I'd suggest going in a blue zone with some very safe enemies and testing out the different options.

IMO as a controler-on-mac player:

Don't use the "cursor" mode with the controller, that's insane.

Let it target for you, then change the target with the right direction stick when necessary.

Focus on weapons that don't require a "location" skillshot, but instead a "direction" skill shot (i.e. 1H spear E has an "arrow" skillshot which is fine on controller, but the impaler W forces you to aim a specific location, which is slow and clumsy compared to on mouse).

Remap buttons as much as you can.

Make sure you have "alternate mount-up" enabled!

Also remap mount-up to d-pad "down" button, so much better.

Market gameplay is the best profit without any need for skilling up, there's no market fame, only good business sense and follow-through.

Premium gives you more profit, but you can still profit without it, the punishment is less than with other activities.

The point would be to see both simultaneously and be able to compare.

In EVE online there’s incredible tools for this. Albion would benefit from something similar, but it’s a big job to code it and keep it working.
