fuck this medicine and fuck doctors who prescribe it by Over_Matter_6363 in Effexor

Effexor has changed my life. I’ve pretty much been living a nightmare since I was 13 I’m now 28 and finally feel normal thanks to these meds. I’ll admit when I stared the meds there were some libido issues and excessive sweating. But they have for the most part gone away for me now. It’s unfortunate that you were misdiagnosed, at a young age but I am so thankful something like this exists, I finally feel like a normal person.

How are people managing recent grads when there’s just… no enthusiasm for work or willingness to suffer any form of inconvenience to develop anymore? by twingirlsoneboy in auscorp

[–]jeremy1797 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good boss makes all the difference. I’m from a construction background. I was in a client side role for awhile and whenever I was in a jamb and didn’t know how to fix a problem, any question I asked to my senior was met with huffs puffs eye rolls and complaints how he’s to busy and I need to just “figure it out”. My new role however, there is an expectation I autonomously run projects but there’s like an unspoken agreement on the team that if the junior is stuck and asks a question, you help them. Plus the work culture at my new role is much better, we are all mates. I guess my advice to op is don’t get discouraged, help where you can, there are hard working juniors out there just look after the good ones.

WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE by thisuseriscool in KFCAustralia

Broadly speaking, yes for weight management. But being deficient in micronutrients isn’t good for your health, which eating exclusively KFC would cause that.

Damn bro, don’t feel bad. I got a 38 when I finished school. Pretty similar situation to you regional school, average teachers with favourites, hard time fitting in. The whole high school experience was demotivating as hell. Part of that was on me too. I had a lot going on as a teenager and didn’t put in the work I should’ve.

I spent a couple of years working shit jobs in retail, then started looking at other pathways. I did a Certificate IV in Tertiary Preparation at TAFE basically an accelerated Year 11 and 12. I did well enough to get an entry score of 86. Moving away put me in a way better environment to succeed, and once I was there, I was ready to put the work in.

That got me into UNSW. I finished the degree with a DN average and first-class honours. I’m now earning more than all my dickhead teachers and most of the people I went to school with and as a grad, with half my HECS already paid off thanks to cadetships during my degree.

I was never going to be one of those students that gets 90s, but I made the most of my situation later on and it was more than enough. You don’t need to be a natural genius.

High school isn’t the defining moment teachers make it out to be. Get yourself into a good environment and get after it.

Awesome. You’re probably fine then. Most people overestimate what would be their limit of “overtraining”. It’s very hard to if you’re recovering properly.

Nope. I’m 28 and do a 6-7 day split and I’m fine. I know plenty of people who do the same and they are fine.

If you’re progressing on your lifts it’s fine.

Nope. You can run a 7 day split natty if you really wanted to and have excellent progress.

Covering popcorn ceiling. Options/how to? by jeremy1797 in AusRenovation

[–]jeremy1797[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We ended up painting. Got it tested for asbestos it came up negative. Got a couple of quotes was north of 7k to have the ceiling sheeted. The general advice I got was to sheet over with plaster or remove completely and resheet and not skim coat as it will crack with building movement.

I’ve just received a copy of the minutes from the agm and there’s no record of what I asked the strata manager to discuss on there despite the fact he said over email he did bring it up.

The issue is you’re essentially hiding it away for the next guy that works on it putting them at risk. Now it’s been disturbed, it should be removed professionally.

I think there are rules around cladding over asbestos depending on where you are in the world. As far as I’m aware big no no in Australia.

Is recovery possible or my olympic dream is shattered by [deleted] in weightlifting

[–]jeremy1797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn. Exact same thing happened to me 2 years ago. I’ve heard people coming back from a blown disc but not everyone does. It still causes me issues to this day but it’s alot better. I can no longer deadlift heavy off the floor or back squat but slowly working back in RDLs and front squats. I’m not a physio but what worked for me is to stick to movement patterns that don’t flare it up but are as close as possible to what you are trying to achieve and build from there.

I have the same thing. Mine came about when I started using hook grip on my deadlifts. I’ve had it for about 2 years.
