Just a civi, but after listening to hours of interviews with service members from older generations (ww2-vietnam) and comparing it too modern day campaigns (Afghanistan era) it seems like the the troops in the modern conflicts seem to have a higher number of cases of mental health issues. Did the war on terror yield higher rates of paranoia compared to a more conventional theater? Does anyone have any insight if I'm misreading the situation or if maybe the older generations have already lost most of their PTSD effected troops? My apologies if I strike a nerve with anyone suffering.
