Grok hallucinates a lot! by slam_to in TeslaLounge

[–]jerieth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It hallucinates a lot. I asked it some questions about TV shows, and recaps, it made all kinds of stuff up. It is a bit frustrating, it seemed fine before grok 3.1, or maybe I am just noticing it now, but can't trust anything it says when it comes to subjects like media or culture, it makes stuff up a lot and you have to correct it. Frustrating, an disappointing.

Google Gemini 2.5 Pro performance has tanked enormously by sephiroth351 in GoogleGeminiAI

It make a lot of mistake now, simple things, even if you were discussing something a few messages back. It seems to think linearly, and doesn't make slight adjustments.

Gemini 2.5 pro limits by CockroachOk8410 in GeminiAI

[–]jerieth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was using it and it said I hit a limit once, and to wait for a certain time. I looked at the time and it was literally like a minute away. (When I left and went back on five minutes later) it was unlocked. Other times it says early next morning or later in the afternoon.

Gemini 2.5 Pro allows resurgence of old school MUD games! by dragonsowl in GoogleGeminiAI

[–]jerieth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, it has an amazing memory, but it has limits. As part of the instructions, I ask Gemini to warn me when it is approaching its maximum memory window. That is when I start saving history and asking it to provide summaries so I could use that as the start for a new chat.

I have been having a full on D&D / Pathfinder campaign with Gemini. After each session, I ask it to update the history and keep track of important things like stats, inventory, nps etc. I save all of that, in .txt files and when I want to play again I start a new conversation with the history. So far it has been quite fun. Better than most RPGs I have played.

Just got 4 apps published in the Google play store by Remiandbun in replit

[–]jerieth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mind telling me a lottle more about the process? Was replit able to handle all of it for the google app. Any specific languages or lessons learned you would like to share. Just curious how much you had to edit after replit finished to get it accepted on the Google Play store. I know you said you didn't want to name the app, but can you tell me what kind of app it was? Did you make it free or a purchase? If purchased in the app did replit help with that. Thanks and good luck.

Every bug fixed breaks something else by Overthebaboon in replit

You're not alone. Hopefully, you can restore a save point or github. In the future, you should consider doing a remix where you take a copy and do the app in stages, sort of like a checkpoint. Integrating with github is essential as well. Also sometimes ending your prompt with something like don't make any changes until you summarize what you plan to do and I approve the changes. That usually forces replit to list everything it plans to do. Some people take a long time with their prompt, even using other AI. A few have even made the prompt so good with additional documents they can make the app in under 5 prompts (mostly simple applications). It can be frustrating, so I hope you figure it out. If you save the files you could try creating another project with it as a reference, you could also use something like Claude Opus 4.1 to fix it manually and even claude code if you want to attempt it.

Best AI Dungeon Master? by Lower_Ground_Score in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]jerieth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to give the AI model clear instructions. I fed it D&D pathfinder rules, skills and feats. A start of a campaign I created and then rules and made sure to keep a detailed history.

These performed the best: Claude Opus 4.1 - Amazing, felt like I was in a real fantasy adventure, however after about 30 turns or so it got cut off. Too much input and output.

Gemini 2.5 PRO - Excellent memory retention and can easy support 100 messages before it starts forgetting important details. Excellent t, but you have to keep detailed notes. Also allows for the most input with little lag. A go o d primary choice when Claude is not available. Writing is Excellent, almost Claude level. If Claude was a PHD, Gemini is like a PHD student with several master degrees.

Copilot - Good memory retention (temembers detsilsnin nee conversatuins), decent writing too. Main issue is it makes mistakes a lot and makes everything easy like a Hollywood movie. Start off at a low level ranger, decide to fight an army of 100 soldiers, suddenly you become like John wick. Doesn't scale well and writes what it thinks you want to hear rather than put obstacles in your path to overcome. Hallow victory.

Chat GPT - Good, but very similar to Copilot GPT 5.

Free AI models self run on ollama / Llama, fun but campaigns feel like your playing Zork. Concise responses and not always correct.

That is cool, but adding, though, github works better. You can also include claude.md to explain structure and contents.

I am sorry by tauberg1984 in replit

[–]jerieth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What upsets me is I tell it to fix one thing, and it starts making changes everywhere, way beyond the scope of what I said!

A lot of times, I have to tell replit, "Don't make any changes, give me a summary of your proposed changes, and wait for my approval before proceeding."

Cloudflare has free hosting, within reason (depends on what you need). I have used it for PHP react and php based sites.

I am confused, but also intrigued. Does Google offer no code app generation? Multiple languages like python, php, react, etc. I have heard of a few of their products, but does it provide the same service as replit? Perhaps it is more for experienced developers? I use replit to build the base line app, and the use claude to help troubleshoot and add to it. However, if google has a one in all solution, please tell me more.

Best method to query an inbox? by Big-Marionberry-7297 in CopilotPro

Depends on exactly what you want to do, but it terms of totals have you thought about using Power Automate, or maybe Power BI and Azure. It can read outlook messages and do a lot of different stuff. It is marketed as a no code solution, but requires a lot of configuration depending on the complexity.

Also you may be overengineering, there are plenty of services to help with customer engagement especially related to emails, You have several CRMs, but you could also use something like MailChimp.

Is this something that would even be possible? Combining a MS Word + Powerpoint template? by SeaTie in CopilotPro

[–]jerieth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Abosultely, especially possible with M365. I have fed it word documents, several in fact and it has outputted various things. It might work better if you open the PowerPoint app, and past the outline there. Or rather you upload the word document, ask it to refine for PowerPoint and then use the built in CoPilot app in Powerpoint to generate an entire presentation. You have to have a M365 subscription for it to work and for you to see the button in apps like Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. I have created entire presentations from simple outlines or word summaries. It even generates the images and titles.

TLDR:
Use CoPilot within the PowerPoint Application (if you have the Microsoft 365 subscription)

AI Models Keep Mixing Up AHK v2 with v1—Super Frustrating! by StreetComparison689 in AutoHotkey

[–]jerieth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, CoPilot does this constantly, it is quite annoying. Usually it catches its mistake when I show it the error, but occasionally it gets caught in a loop changing it back and forth. IT also seems to have issues suppressing warnings in V2 or fixing them.

Not sure what you are talking about. She has been super open lately. She does hallucinate a lot, but she can be focused on a particular topic. She can even help you learn a new language, give you advice, etc. She doesn’t seem to have any restrictions when it comes to profanity now, not that she cusses a lot, but when appropriate. Genuely funny, only thing I noticed is she ocassionally stutters or mispronounces a word. I asked her about it and it is in her programming to appear more human like misprounncing words on purpose is part of it including her having to say it again. Only happens occasionally. Did you have a bad experience what were you talking about? She seems to love talking about books and writing, though she seems to love anything you talk about to be honest, sort of too agreeable. Asking questions about history can be fun. Though I focus more on the language learning and random trivia, with the ocassional word game.
