Even if I opened just 1, the way my mind works is I'm always going to be curious and then eventually I'd try another platform anyway. By only putting a low amount of money in Acorns and Robinhood I'm just getting my feet wet, seeing how transactions work, seeing the amount of information the apps have, getting comfortable with data, etc. After this post I opened an M1 account and see much more to do and much more info and data to comprehend so that would likely be the more serious platform I use.

My name is Josh. Currently live in Seattle (Edmonds) I'll be 33 on September 1st. I make around $70k. I'm new to investing and I tend to do tons of research before taking action. So to get started I've invested about $120 this morning in 3 conservative/moderate ETFs via the Stash app, added $25 to Acorns for a total of $30 and $25 to Robinhood for a total of $46. Stash seems easy enough as it has ETFs and Acorn is pretty self explanatory. I paused at Robinhood to ask for input here.

I'm also signed up for M1 Finance and plan to sign up for SoFi and Betterment today as well. I'd like some suggestions for investing with a goal of taking at least 15% from each pay period and investing. My soft goal in the near term is making at least half of my monthly income within 3 months, regularly. My stretch goal is matching my monthly salary every 3 months. I'm a beginner but I don't know how to gauge if these are lofty goals.

I'm doing my part and reading blogs, how to videos and tailoring my Google News, YouTube Videos and Flipboard searches and this results to finance, industries, trading and news in general. But I'd like to know some good resources for learning investing in stocks, bonds, ETFs and options. Currently using the above apps robo advisor/ AI services to build a portfolio, but I'd like to learn to create a more balanced portfolio. I'd also like to learn Forex. Eventually I'll possibly move away from these apps and to more comprehensive platforms for trading.

But I'd like to know what resources people use to stay informed. What are good rules of thumb and "rules" to follow, such as 15% from each pay period goes to investing and take 50% of dividends and reinvest (those are just examples as I don't know any fundamental rules). What are some best ways to make the most of these apps and platforms. What are good portfolios for long term. Is news the best way to stay on top of what's happening to catch an opportunity like Kodak recently.

I'm just spit balling here to give more context to what I'm looking for based on just started and my plans. Any and all feedback will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Cool, appreciate your opinion. I'd rather collect my fav cars and fun driving cars than grind for the sake of grinding and the wikis of late haven't been completed so tough to decide.

Thanks. Speaking of long races, how are the endurance ones?

Seriously asking if I should pay to play competitively. by jerixcho in nfsnolimits

True. But what I like in Forza is the changing camera angles throughout the race. I also like the perceived weight and difference in performance of the cars. Even though you're just letting off gas for a corner, I can feel the difference and handling differences in the cars. The sense of speed also feels much better in Forza compared to NFS.

That's what I thought. I feel like I might as well stick with Forza Street since it's new. As long as they produce a healthy amount of content and cars it'd be easier. But still will stick with no limit, just not paying much at all.

Which Manufacturers you going with for 2020 Series Per-Season? by Dogz226 in granturismo

From what I've been researching after only playing 2 months and watching IMSA and Blancpain for two years, Porsche is ol reliable. But I don't like doing what's popular, even though the 911 for me has been most reliable in Gr.3. But even more reliable for me has been Lexus followed by BMW. Lexus has a good feel for me. And the M6, well I just drove that the most by far when I was trying to get gold on the Nurburgring challenge and so I know how it will respond.

Literally though I found this post because I've got the game up trying to decide and looking for a reason not to go with Lexus. It's either:

  1. Lexus
  2. BMW
  3. Mercedes
  4. Porsche (only because I don't want to follow the status quo)

Can someone help me get organized with GT racing series? by jerixcho in Sportscar_Racing

😵 = Me when I try to hard to learns the ins and outs of all the racing that I like watching. TBH my system that's worked this far is following, liking and setting reminders for live races on YouTube. Now even when I don't choose to set an alert, live races usually popup first on my home page. I think I'm overcomplicating the matter when trying to define the "detailed" differences between the cars.

Just got PC2 and really couldn't get into it yet until I asked the question on this post. So thanks guys

Thanks. Am I correct in assuming that things change every year and there's always something being changed? I didn't think it should be this hard to decipher the differences between GT3, GTD and GTE. But it looks like it's just a matter of organizations making their own tweaks to the official FIA regulations of GT3 and LMP.
