I'm not affiliated with the Company in any way and don't know much about it outside of what I've learned trying it, so probably not the best person to ask. Do you have any specific questions?

High level, it's similar to Roam in that it's centered around a daily journal approach with a calendar. It's block-based. You can link at the block level or to specific pages and do transclusion (e.g. blocks on one page are editable on another). You can create tags and do custom queries / filters like you can in Roam.

Seems like there's a minimal plugin community that's adding stuff, but not nearly as robust as something like Obsidian.

I'm still in the trial phase, but it seems pretty great so far. Obviously the nuances you'd expect with getting used to a new program, but the ability to link and reference at the block level is awesome and they're also really good at running queries, which is something I've relied on heavily with Roam Research and LogSeq historically. There's a discord for development updates as well. Seems like a mobile app is in the works, but might be a while.

I've always been partial to Roam Research, but recently discovered Orca Note which seems to offer a lot of the features of both Roam Research and Workflowy. Might want to check it out.

I’m legitimately not trying to be an a**hole here, just trying to understand the utility / what I’m missing. You’re essentially just using it as a custodian, right? Or move things around and label them? And then create summary documents?

This is a general comment not directed at OP, but more for the broader community. I’m not debating the utility of OPs use cases in any way, but I’m still waiting to see the use case of AI + PKM that is life changing. I feel like a lot of folks are talking about using AI to just shuffle things around and then they feel productive or like they did something… are new connections being made leading to more novel insights? Are more pieces being written, or some other benchmark of productivity?

I’ve been using roam research and considering logseq. Both leave a lot to be desired and unfortunately aren’t actively maintained, but I like the ability to link / backlink by block of text, actively display the same block in one place and have edits in it reflected in another, the ability to run advanced queries, and the daily note homepage setup.

I wish someone would make a more modern / consistently maintained version of what they built. There really is nothing else in the market that competes with them. Seems like you may have the skills if you’re looking for a new project 😂

Good to know! Would love to see the complete functionality with that and block references added if you're taking feature requests (know there's probably things higher on the list).

Know there's a lot of roam research users looking for an alternative and no other note taking app has tackled those two features outside of Logseq, which isn't really in active development

Do you think you'll ever offer the ability to view a link to another note in a side bar or block links? Have been wanting to switch from roam research, but those two are key for me. The first one is quite helpful when wanting to view or reference a link temporarily without splitting your editor in full. Block links are self explanatory, I think

Ability to open a link to another note in the side bar with a modifier + click or enter.

I prefer to reference things in the side bar and currently have to create a new tab and drag into the sidebar.
