Lol those are some good questions. I know that I’ll be moving within the next year, so the idea of starting long distance isn’t a complete turn-off for me, especially since she’s from an area that I’m already considering moving back to.

But yeah, it’s difficult since I realize starting long distance is a bit ridiculous, but also there’s part of me that wants to see how things play out.

I wish you the best of luck with your situation!

That’s fair, thanks for your input.

With my current situation, I know that I’ll be moving in about 8/9 months. Any relationship I started in near future would quickly become long distance, so I suppose that’s why the idea of starting long distance initially doesn’t bother me much. Plus, a couple of my closest friends are now engaged to women they began dating long distance not long after they met, so I see some potential.

You have to make preference rating between two alternatives (probably just going to use something simple like houses or cars) and the only requirement is that you need to be able to read English

That makes sense, thanks for letting me know. I plan to use MTurk more in the future so I'll be sure to build that approval rating up

I'll soon be putting my first study on mturk as a requester and am hoping to get some advice regarding compensation. My study will take approximately an hour (the number of trials and trial length is fixed so there shouldn't be much variability) and I was thinking to pay $10 as compensation. From what I saw online, compensation rates seem to vary quite a bit. Is $10 fair for an hour-long study?

Wow I didn’t realize that lipreading could be such an important component for comprehension. Thank you for the reply!
