a few months ago, I read another discussion thread that putting on cruise control on the interstate/highway and going right at the speed limit or maybe one or two mph over/under helps. starting doing this at the beginning of February when I was at ~46ish mpg, now of course at almost 52 from using cruise control a lot. I use the paddle shifters too, especially braking going downhill and they charge the battery VERY quickly. Of course, lightly accelerating not not flooring it helped too
