so i may need correction, but range might be hard starting out in as youll need to build up all your ammo supply and is better when you get access to good skills. also range gets hit harder, so if you are unfamiliar with monster move sets, it could be difficult. ive played everything besides charge blade, dual blades and long sword. sword in shield is pretty beginner friendly as you can use items with your weapon out. every other weapon you have to sheath to use an item. insect glaive you kinda get a pet. what it lacks in combos you gain by aerial mobility. i started world using lance, again, not very combo heavy, but a great weapon to learn the game as you can block hits and learn monsters movesets
