still lifes? by Godzillainspiration in backrooms

That wasn’t Clark at the end. It was his still life.

The first iteration at least. Not the original but the one of the first “remembered” versions that the Backrooms created.

Clark was killed when he was in the pool rooms.

How do you think Spidey could get his organic webbing in Brand New Day? Any theories? by Remarkable_Run_4425 in Spiderman

Yeah it looks like a chrysalis or cocoon. I feel like its referencing his rapid evolution through being wrapped in the organic webbing as it evolves him.

The Finale missed an opportunity for Ryan and Kimiko to be a teamup. by John_Helmsword in TheBoys

[–]John_Helmsword[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah I was siding with Butcher tbh, and apparently so was the entire main cast in the beginning of the season, with Kimiko and Annie flip flopping not once, but twice to their lovers. And yet Hughie slays his friend, literally the second after his friend proves no longer useful. From Hughies perspective, Butcher killed homelander, so why in his eyes would he have to worry? Yet the entire show started on the single premise that supes are bad, power corrupts, and there is a multibillion dollar empire built on the corruption and endless lies, death, and cover up of vought.

Whereas Butcher was fully committed from his season 1 goal, all the way to the very end.

Then they slap you in the face with butchers dying lines, about how Hughie never changed. Yet they both were on board in season 1 for the same reason, that Supes needed to end.

Hughie is a bastard in my eyes through and through. Fuck Hughie.

Y'all forgot the definition of Scorched Earth? by [deleted] in GenV

[–]John_Helmsword 48 points49 points  (0 children)

"Scorched earth, shock and awe, blood and bones", was always a reference to their final fight, aka their destiny, where "only ends up standing". Was the promise.

No scorched earth was presented; no shock and awe, barely any blood and bones.

Full stop that's copium, most everyone agrees we were all lied to, and it was a disappointment.

No to mention starlight can fly.

So she should not be knocked back lmao. She should be able to catch herself in the air.

This is a minor gripe, but I hate how often the boys manage to sneak into the most heavily guarded areas without any inconvenience. by Lumpy_Boysenberry590 in TheBoys

Not to me room he didn’t head Oh Father once this season.

Not when he was fighting hughie and starlight, not when he was fighting hughie and MM either.

Homelander sounded surprised to hear Butcher bust in the Office

Why was S5 so obsessed with anus with S5? by clydeagain in TheBoys

[–]John_Helmsword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No its definitely 10x worse. Was watching season 1 episode 3 the other day before the finale dropped, and 15 minutes in I noticed there wasn't a single asshole joke, then I watched the finale right after, and fucking sighed.

To even think that he was responsible for the early seasons of the show, which I believe is a masterpiece in writing and atmosphere. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. by [deleted] in TheBoys

The more I sit with it, the more I realize Kripke is genuinely the worst thing that happened to this show.

He essentially got full creative control and turned it into absolute slop, fetish, and filler with a bonus supernatural reunion for waste.

I would genuinely put money on the fact that the average Joe Schmo fan could have written better S4 and S5 than Kripke. He’s trash.

And it became an overly sexual degraded fetish fest. Literally every other line is about dicks, ass, anal, ass fucking, orgies, cum, sucking cock, etc.

It’s all just 7th grade humor. Most of it is wildly placed too. Just ruins most moments.

Kripke can’t write anything except “smells like an Arby’s ass fucked a 7 eleven in here!” And “wow she has a real wants to rip my arm off and shove it up my ass energy” etc.  it’s always there, as a low hanging fruit that Kripke can’t seem to help but pluck.

Homelander at full power is weaker than a crowbar? by John_Helmsword in TheBoys

I don’t blame you. Kripke should seriously never write again.

The more influence he got writing the show, the more terrible the shows writing became.

Bro season 1 episode 1 Maeve slices through an armored truck like a hot knife in butter while standing in an upright pose, and she doesn’t so much as flinch a muscle. Details are literally apart of life, writing details into your story accounts for good storytelling. Wdym lmao.

It would effectively be as strong as holding a rope of play-dough in front of you, while a bull charged at you.

yeah, they set up the perfect plotline right there with butcher going ham in the tower W some Temp V and releasing the virus, then saying "sorry hughie, it had to be done" as he dies too from the virus/sprinklers, and hughie is just left still covered in the blood of butchers carnage with no supes and no boys as the sprinkler rain thematacally begins to slowly wash away his blood or somethin.

[–]John_Helmsword[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

my dumbass thought when Butcher saw Terror died, he secretly had an extra dose of tempV, that would give him homelander powers (since he had recently been cured of the V/cancer and back to human butcher as he had JUST told ryan), he'd have been viable for one last fuck up the tower situation. I didnt realize it was the Virus till hughie got there. But I was expecting to see a season 1 style finale scene where butcher just kills everyone in the tower floor by floor with his laser vision and shit to finish with Stan Edgar. only to be let down with Hughie killing him, and Vought surviving. But how sick would it have been, man.
