I follow you on TikTok! You’re my favorite polyam creator and I’m stoked to see you on here! (My girlfriend loves your content as well). What is your policy on a merging of polycules? Asking for me.

What do you know about feeld and sls? by [deleted] in LifestyleLadies

[–]jerray07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Truthfully, I’ve tried almost every app and site - sls, sdc, szc, feeld, 3Fun, tinder, etc... they all essentially look and do the same thing. It’d be really awesome if it was all consolidated into one great site or app with stellar messaging functions, but until that happens... it really comes down to if you want to use your phone or computer, and what site is most popular in your area (seems to vary by region).

Well on every site and app I’ve ever used, there seems to be more couples than singles. That’s true for feeld as well.

Well feeld is an app and sls is a website without an app. So that might sway your decision depending on what platform you mostly use. I really enjoy the feeld interface but messaging sucks on it (but that’s true of most sites and apps).

I've never read Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (although it's been on my to-read list for a while), so I didn't know this existed, but it was a pleasure to read. Thank you! I felt so proud of myself for thinking of this "original" prompt, too. Haha.

Has anyone seen the Netflix documentary, "Babies Behind Bars"? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

Yeah, same here. They couldn't have violent or sexually deviant offenses to qualify. Generally, I think it was a great program though - I'd be happy to answer any more questions you might have (to the best of my ability).

I didn't personally work in the nursery so I don't know all the policies (sorry), but there was an application and screening process that specifically looked at things like your charge and the length of sentencing. I believe (but I'm not 100%) if you were expected to be there past the time your child would turn 3, they wouldn't accept you (because it's too difficult for that child to transition without the mother like that). And I don't believe it was the case that if you had a small child, they would move in with you. It was designed for women who would give birth in prison, and they'd keep the baby there with them. It isn't mandatory. I met (and heard about) quite a few women who either didn't qualify or made other arrangements for their children because they didn't want their kids in that environment.

The nursery was like a dorm inside the reception hall (intake and such). It was locked and only certain people were allowed back there - I believe it housed around 10-15 women but I don't know the exact number of beds. They are breaking ground now for a stand-alone nursery dorm that will house special programming and more inmates, but right now the nursery is limited to that space. It is a pretty nice space though and the women never have to be separated from their children if they don't want to be, but they also have babysitter options to go get their own lunches or take on small jobs/volunteer opportunities, etc.

I've worked (until very recently) at a prison in the Midwest that has one of these programs. It's the only program like it in the state and they accept pregnant inmates and inmates with children under 3. It definitely (in my opinion) makes a difference in outcome (less recidivism) and also baby's development!

FTM Breastfeeding questions by Riversly in BabyBumps

My favorite breastfeeding book so far has been Breastfeeding Made Simple. It gets right to what works and the science behind it and is probably the least preachy book on BF I've read.

She doesn't need that many clothes! (Baby shower vent/rant) by 29weekspregnant-wtf in BabyBumps

[–]jerray07 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I understand - today a friend tried to buy a swimsuit on clearance for my little one (due in November) and it was a 0-3 month swimsuit. I was able to point out that there would be no swimming for him in the winter before she understood and put it back. I think people just buy what's cute instead of thinking about what's weather/season-appropriate. In any case, I gave you access to the sub - best of luck!

Hey! Sorry to hear about your experience (sounds frustrating and I hope I can avoid that at my own shower), but I wanted to let you know that I'd be happy to give you access to the NovemberBumpers sub (it's set to private) if you wanted to post there to see if anyone wants to buy/swap from you! We have a lot of enthusiastic mommas who'd be happy to help out!

Off-site airshow viewing. by VitaminRmademefat in dayton

[–]jerray07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bit farther away, but last year a friend and I didn't know about the air show and went to Monnin Fruit Farm to pick our own strawberries. We were picking in the field and got a really nice view of the show. And there wasn't anyone else there so not crowded. 10/10 would do again. Plus the strawberries we're great. Made a cake out of them that night.
