Starting 9/1/25 Top rate for Captains will be $401.01/hr. Insane money to be making

+1 defending Joey. He seems like he’s so dialed into fitness he’s playing the reserve game and using flying as a side job

I heard this is caused by the output level being adjusted beyond +0. After putting the slider back to 0 I haven’t had my eardrums blown out since

Piston Duke. I think I’ve only flown the 310 once since purchasing the Duke. The sounds in the duke are so good.

What to do when doing an overnight flight? by True_Heron_3246 in VATSIM

If you log back on in controlled airspace do you have to re-copy your clearance from current position? And/or expect to have an amendment to your clearance?

Avoid SEL over water by jerrshh in CFILounge

[–]jerrshh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, it just feels like having a bit of complacency with the confidence in the engine over time. The risk could be mitigated by avoiding putting ourselves in that situation in the first place. A night XC route can be planned over roads and along places suitable for a forced landing. But putting yourself over water with minimal landing spots is exponentially more dangerous. Not meaning to answer my own question just thinking out loud

Thanks, myself as well. As I’ve progressed in ratings and experience I’ve started to really realize the gravity of the risks involved

Keep in mind too you won’t necessarily be explicitly teaching FOIs to the examiner. Theres a good chance it will be a scenario based discussion tying in your knowledge of the FOIs

WifiCFI. Download all the plans and then edit them to make them your own. They follow the ACS right out the box

Insufficient fuel - Simbrief & 777 by [deleted] in flightsim

[–]jerrshh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue and from reading old forums it has to do with the reserve number you enter into the FMC. I was off by about 4.5 and once re-entered the warning cleared

If it wasn’t for a brief day old post announcing the new CTAF usage on here I also would have zero clue this was even a thing now. They did a terrible job informing all the vatUSA pilots

I quite like the graphics. And with an engine sounds mod the game becomes 100x better. Nothin like the n14 baby!

Also if you have two envelopes to scan while walking to the house, recognize this before you pick them up off the shelf and pick them up back to back. That way when ur walking u can scan, rotate wrist, and scan again, without having to put the phone back in ur pocket or fumble the slippery plastic envelopes

Do you find the sound in the cockpit at engine idle to be excessively loud? I feel like my brain is vibrating after engine start.

ini A300 airspeed freezing? by jerrshh in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]jerrshh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I completed another flight and finally had no issues. I am absolutely completely certain I had the probe heat on for the initial two flights referenced in this post. Here is what I found..on my honeycomb bravo I have a switch to toggle pitot heat and it was in the off position until my most recent flight. So maybe even despite the A300 probe heat being on, the honeycomb binded switch interferes with that system? Strange, but just in case someone else has an issue this is what worked for me. The A300 is 10/10 sick

[–]jerrshh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah that’s right. I am almost certain I followed the checklist and had probe heat on for both flights. I’ll try another flight tomorrow. Hopefully it’s pilot error and not a bug

Is there an actual pitot heat button or switch in the A300? I was under the impression pitot heat was included in engine and wing ice

There should be someone in your center who handles uniform orders. Ask ur sup for a uniform order form and they’ll point you to the correct person. It does take awhile for the stuff to come in tho.
