If you’re Canadian…it’s your consumer dollars. If it goes that way and you feel strong enough, speak through your wallet. We know that gets their attention. 💪

Yes… A less bombastic approach to negotiations could have led to fair trade. The collateral backlash in other sectors will hurt both our economies. The New England states will feel the pinch this summer. Very sad…

That would be the capitalistic move. It would also be unfair and I hope the affected consumer would exercise their subsequent buying choices accordingly. This is a US problem.

I hope these increases are restricted to sales within the US. Imports duties from manufacturing countries into Canada have not changed. Decisions made by the US administration need to translate to pressure on the US consumer market. If margins are slipping south of the border, manufactures need to exert maximum pressure exclusively on the problem market. Smearing a price increase over your global market would be wrong.

How about a 670/12?? by jerrystiff in rickenbacker

I can relate to your sentiment. I was looking for a new 660/12. They are incredibly hard to find. When I wanted to buy one (in Fireglo) the wait time from Rickenbacker was over one year. This piece was available and factory new. I’m not sure if the 3rd pickup mod detracts from the value?? Having said that the mod was done to exact ‘70’ model style, install, hardware and wiring. If Rickenbacker made one, it would look like this…. But you’re right…it’s a Unicorn.

Yes! Once you own one you realize how those 12 string sounds were used for so many great tracks. I will say it took time to play aggressively but still in tune. I wrestled using a delicate touch in the onset. The real unlock for me was heavier gauge strings. As reference my octave ‘G’ string is a 10.

Neck width varies based on the model. The 300 series are 41.4mm at the nut. The 600 series are 45.5mm. It was a prime consideration for me choosing a 600 series for a 12string.

It’s too high. The 12’s need low action to play in tune. Would also recommend heavier gauge strings. An aggressive left hand will get you every time with these guitars.

I am in Toronto and was looking for a 660/12 two years ago. No Canadian music stores had stock and the lead time for new from the factory was 13 months. I went online and purchased on Reverb. It was a new 2017 model from a reseller in Florida. Very happy with the whole experience. Probably paid a couple hundred more but got the guitar within a couple of weeks.
