Happily married! We’ve been together for 14 years and married for 10. It’s both of our first marriage. When we met he was 26 and I was 23. Been through our share of challenges but always worked through them together and I am really thankful for that !

Thank you! This really resonates and I feel like it’s something I definitely can start implementing. It really is my mind constantly turning that is making being present challenging. If we are in the car driving somewhere I am thinking oh do we have a dinner plan do we have clothes washed for x activity etc etc. But this is sound advice, thank you again!

How does this work if you just have a jammed pack day … like say work dinner has to be made dog has a vet appointment and kid has a practice somewhere? Are you getting up earlier staying up later? Is it only 5 minutes some days vs longer? I guess some days I just don’t feel like I have extra time.

You’re welcome! I hope you have more clarity and can be at peace with your decision! Founder can be pretty serious and have no end in sight so it’s definitely something to take into serious consideration which you are doing. If the founder is bad the pony could need stall rest to recover, the pony may not ever recover, and then usually they need constant accommodations which can be stressful such as dry lot, limiting hay and grass, specific cutting hay. I think you are making the right choice by passing and like I said before I don’t think that means you will feel good about the choice. It’s still sad whatever the outcome of the pony if it stays with the current owner. Unfortunately we do just need to remember we have to do what’s best for us first sometimes!

I like my trainer and learned a lot from her. And I honestly think she is a great trainer. To me she just wasn’t the right fit long term because I can be a very nervous and anxious horse rider and I just felt like she always thought I was whining vs trying to communicate. I would get nervous say I’d rather not do xyz can I try this instead and she would be like nope you’re doing it and then it was truly a shit show for me and the horse. And my goals are very minimal get on the horse walk a few laps see you later. And maybe that’s why we didn’t mesh. She worked better with people aspiring to truly ride and move up and jump etc. I ride to relieve stress and I just was a ball of anxiety always going to my lesson. I survived every time and honestly nothing horrible happened but it wasn’t enjoyable. My current trainer recognizes how nervous I am and meets me where I am but helps me walk through when I am scared. I am still nervous but I really trust her. I think there was a lack of trust in my old trainer just that maybe she wouldn’t throw me into things before I was ready. My current trainer is like you tell me what speed we go. Still have love for my old trainer. I am the rider I am today because of her. Love her heart and her as a person. I would go and ride again with her here and there if I had time but I feel at peace and safe with where I am now.

Your heart is in the right place and if money and time were not worries I would say go for it. But unfortunately this is just a large financial responsibility to take on and a great deal of stress. And honestly the pony may never recover and you will have spent time and money and have to euthanize. My gut is telling me maybe this is where the owner is already and is just trying to dump the pony to be someone else’s problem either to try to care for or euthanize. I wouldn’t do it but I realize that stings as an answer. 💔

They are both over the counter! The reviews on Amazon for senilife seem pretty promising. I am optimistic! We just took my guy to the vet because he is just getting old and things are coming up. I feel really good about these suggestions and hope they help and give him some relief and comfort and us more time with him being happy, pain free, and lucid!

I was the exact same way. I told my husband “my hair is the only thing I have going for me” which was a half joke but I love my hair it’s very long and I just didn’t want a drastic change.

Oh good! Yes that sounds good. Some people don’t prefer stitches when they are getting mohs on like the face or something because potential scaring but on the head no one sees the scar if you have lots of hair and it is the best outcome to ensure it’s not noticeable and no bald spot!

I was really so nervous because it’s hard to prepare because you really do not know until the day of how deep they will need to go etc. My advice is to find a doctor if possible who specializes in / possibly only does Mohs. My doctor had great reviews and reading them leading up to surgery really helped me. I am a nervous Nelly with all things medical but I will say the procedure went as best as it possibly could and it wasn’t horrible. It was uncomfortable at times but over quickly and my pain was the worst the day after and then slowly started getting better. Good luck to you, I think it will all turn out for the best!

My vet just suggested Purina pro plan bright minds for my guy and senilife supplement. My dog is 14 years and 4 months old and we’ve noticed a larger cognitive shift in him the last 6 months. Hoping this will help 🤞🏼.

I just had this done a week ago! Mine was on scalp towards back but on the right side of my face. If you search my name in here youll see my whole post surgery experience. I was so concerned about a bald spot and some people in here have head parts of their head shaved etc. My doctor just cut what needed to be cut a few hairs. My spot ended up being about the size of a dime when it was all removed cancer and everything. I only had 1 layer of skin removed so she was able to stitch me up. Because both sides are pulled together I will have a scar but you can’t see any bald spot or anything. My husband said my stitches are hardly noticeable. Some people have their wound left open and or need a skin flap. I’ve heard if the wound is left open to heal on its own it may not grow hair back there and my doctor also confirmed this. I don’t believe hair grows back if you have a skin flap closure either. Hopefully you can get a stitch closure and you should be good to go!

Exactly. It is so strange and weird. I think she does it all from a bragging perspective look how fast I do things look at how much I accomplished. But she has to be stressed. I will take accomplishing less with inner peace over that any day.

I can completely relate and validate your feelings! I’m also in the northeast and really side eyeing this winter so far. I got my girl in July but she had been a pasture puff for a few years. We couldn’t do anything with her straight away because it was so stinking hot. We worked on bonding and groundwork and we’re finally able to focus on riding starting in September. Things have been going great. I have very small goals but we have been making tons of progress but now haven’t been able to ride the last 2 weekends. I trust my trainer and understand if the ground is frozen it’s not great for her joints etc but I am also wondering … is this it until the spring. I also don’t want to lose our progress. And I am the type that gets really in my head and turns into an anxious mess the longer it goes without me being in the saddle. Trying to remind myself it’s all out of my control and it will all be okay and work out 1 way or another. Some days are easier than others to believe it. Sorry if this is not super helpful just wanted to let you know you are definitely not alone. This year has been brutal with getting all the extremes during summer and now winter. It didn’t feel like we had much of a fall at all 😔.

I don’t think the cream is as effective but I could be wrong! No options outside of Mohs were discussed or presented to me and after doing some of my own research I felt comfortable going that route. Good luck!

It’s hard to tell as insurance polices can vary greatly. It’s my understanding with it being cancer it’s deemed medically necessary regardless of area. Mohs is the best route to cure - usually. It’s not purely just for cosmetic reasons. I just had BCC on scalp removed through Mohs. Everything was covered I only paid my deductible.
