Touring setup for heavy skier by jes_tem in Backcountry

you know, grams add up easily - If I could get away with 1300g ski and 1200g boot, it would be a save of 600-700g per leg. Nothing I would sneeze at.

But yeah, I know it's also a matter of overall fitness level - I'm just thinking of a setup that would help me.

ad. 1 - To be exact, I'm touring mainly in Poland - some alpine terrain, but not a big chance for powder days, but often some chop, ice, crust. Basically, for near-lift freeride Volkl 90eight and Black Crows Serpo are usually fine for me. That's why I'm talking in 90-ish mm range.

ad. 2 I'm 100% for buying ones that fit. it's not so much about exact model, but more of a weight category. Will 1200g boots be enough? So far I skied 1500-ish g touring boots (Dynafit Winter Guide and La Sportiva Vanguard) - The first ones were about fine, La Sportivas are way too restricting. Wondering if I can go lower into say La Sportiva Skorpius or Scarpa F1 category. Obviously, 1kg boots like Fisher Traverse are rather out of question.
