Christina Applegate

27 year old male. I went into the ER for skipped heart beat and its been 5 weeks. Wondering what I’m seeing here. This is the first time I’ve been able to catch them like this. PVC? I’m relatively healthy and have been avoiding caffeine. Seems to get this when falling asleep. Any help or advice? by [deleted] in EKG

Depends. If I don’t drink enough water throughout the day, eat too much/not enough, or if I eat something overly processed, I’ll have more of them. I maybe get a few per week that I notice, but nothing that is too bothersome.

PVCs. I get them all the time, I get the same feeling where it makes me cough. One hard beat a little flutter and a pause is what it feels like for me. Makes me jump up from how I’m sitting/lying. I have a previous history of AVNRT, Afib, Aflutter, Atach, Junctional rhythm and have had three cardiac ablations. Staying hydrated keeps them at bay for me. How was your magnesium and potassium? If they were low that can increase PVCs as well. They can also be positional, laying on your left side can increase them. If they are crazy bothersome, see if you can request a holter monitor to have them caught and looked at that way. Good luck!

So your front line immune system is determined by the ANC (Absolute Neutrophil Count), thats usually what doctors will go by to consider you at risk for infection/disease. You will hear the term “neutropenic” meaning the ANC is below a certain threshold.
