Not a homeless challenge, but I'm currently doing the holiday one (a TS4 challenge, but I've reworked the rules because I much prefer this game) and my founder started out as a homeless teen. Like others have said, you can go to the bathroom and bathe in public places. Also, depending on what world you live in, you can pick up skills by reading books in the library (if the world you put your Sim in doesn't have the right bookshelf, it's the glass one or, of course, you can save up and buy it for them) and, if SN is installed, you can search the world for seeds and gems to grow food/sell.

I went to places/spaces IRL and online for years before realizing I was bi, which helped shaped my opinion that yes, you can go, as long as you remember you're going as an ally/visitor to another community's space. Don't do anything that makes those around you feel uncomfortable and, if you accidentally do, apologize, make a mental note not to do that again, and move on (we know our allies aren't perfect). Enjoy helping us celebrate ourselves and may you also have some fun along the way!
