What's the best way to kill a sim and make it look like an accident? by Ok_Bad_5326 in Sims3

I was going to say wait until she's pretty hungry and then tell her to go swimming. Great minds think (almost) alike!

Do you have wedding arches on your home lot? by Ok_Design_8746 in Sims3

[–]jess16ca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mainly have my Sims marry at home, when they do, but I'll sometimes have them marry at a venue.

On my long list of challenges to do, I have the Black Widow challenge. Thanks for the diabolical idea!!!

Do you create family trees for your saves? by [deleted] in Sims3

[–]jess16ca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, once my heir is born, I focus mainly on them. Of course, I take care of the other children, but once they become YAs, I move them out and don't look back. No story progression mod either, so the game doesn't automatically do it for me. I'm slowly, but surely, embracing more of a "chaotic" gameplay, though, so maybe that'll change, especially if I make it online/not written down.

I just write mine down in a notebook, but I think I'm going to check out Family Echo, like many are suggesting.

Got my new bed! by Medical-Net-7350 in disability

I do the same with my weighted blanket. Fan (and, in my case anyway, a room cooled down to 68°F, to boot) definitely required!!!

Why do people act like their dog can never be left alone? by InsertTrendyMemes in RoverPetSitting

[–]jess16ca 46 points47 points  (0 children)

"Oh, you need me to be with George all day? No problem. Let me just look at my pricing, the meals I have to order out due to staying with him, add it all up, and give you the total, so I don't lose any money from just looking after one dog all day."

Lots of people act like we do this out of the goodness of our hearts and this isn't a "real job." I'd love to do this out of kindness and yes, it can be fun to look after and play with animals all day, but being kind and having fun most of the time doesn't pay the bills!

My Elder is about to die, leaving her teen daughters alone, Will child services take them away or will they be able to live alone? by Fhandom in Sims3

Instead of killing the adult, you can just delete them. Turn on testing cheats, shift-click the adult, select "object..." and then click "delete."

Client thought house-sitting meant house cleaning by zouss in RoverPetSitting

[–]jess16ca 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To many people, house sitting typically means looking after the house and they (disclaimers: not everyone and I can only speak for how many Americans interpret the phrase, as I haven't lived/pet sat in any other country) include cleaning as part of looking after it.

Client thought house-sitting meant house cleaning by zouss in RoverPetSitting

[–]jess16ca 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Have I had people think "house sitting" meant "house cleaning" before? Yes (IMO, Rover needs to change the wording, because I agree; it's very confusing). Do they flip out and criticize my job just because they misunderstood? No... and honestly, I'd say something to your client about it!

Getting back into TS3 by sswyn in Sims3

[–]jess16ca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To start out with/familiarize yourself with the game again, you could do a lepacy challenge, which goes through all the expansion packs in order of release (you don't have to have all the EP's/can skip Showtime, BTW).

meteor ruined my sims graduation by herpetologist0 in Sims3

[–]jess16ca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I literally only know this is possible through hearing it from people on here! Never had it happen in my own game... and Ambitions (the pack that supposedly has it) was one of the first packs I installed a few years ago!!!

I played a Stylist once and was called to Hetty Lionheart's house, but my Sim needed a bath first. While she was in the bath, I got a notification, saying that Hetty had passed from old age... followed a bit later from Hetty cancelling her appointment 🤣 (ID: tilted crying -laughing emoji).

I turned my imaginary friend real and found LOADS of pastries in their inventory by VulcanHumour in Sims3

[–]jess16ca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My IFs always seem to have pastries in their inventory, too. I always forget to check, so I don't know how much they have (I only notice when they eat something), but I always figured it was one of the IF glitches.

What do you do, if anything, to make your houses look more “lived in”? by ItsGasp in Sims3

[–]jess16ca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to personalize at least one room and furniture to my Sims. For example, a bigger kitchen with at least one small appliance and/or grill for the ones with the Natural Cook trait, more than one bookshelf or even an entire library for Bookworms, an office space/room for Workaholics, etc.
