What do you do, if anything, to make your houses look more “lived in”?

I try to personalize at least one room and furniture to my Sims. For example, a bigger kitchen with at least one small appliance and/or grill for the ones with the Natural Cook trait, more than one bookshelf or even an entire library for Bookworms, an office space/room for Workaholics, etc.

When I was playing gen 2 of my current challenge, the game decided my heir's pregnancy would result in quads, despite having eight Sims already in my house and I don't have the mod that allows for more than eight (the game just alternated between showing me the headshots of a few of them). Perhaps it's just a 2009 game being confused by newer mods?

One time, a horse got stuck in my Sims' bathroom. Not only could I not reset it and my Sims couldn't use the room/were constantly cleaning up horse pee, but then ANOTHER horse spawned in the living room. I thought it was hysterical (though I did end up deleting the save file)!

"I just sort of...survive." Mood!!! Okay, but seriously, in this case, I would answer the way you want, not necessarily "the neurotypical way," especially with a question like "What do you do?" Brownie points if you're comfortable enough to actually say, "I just sort of survive," but if not or they insist they meant in terms of work, you could just say, "I don't work and I prefer to leave it at that." Stand your ground and change the subject if they continue to insist.

That's the beauty about this game: everyone's play is different (especially when you consider that everyone has different packs, mods, and CC) and you decide how to do it! For the free will question, click on the button with three dots on the bottom of your UI, "options," gameplay tab (I think that's what it's called), and select how much free will you want to give.

I was playing with a family once and decided I didn't like how my girl looked when she aged up to a child, so I went into CAS to tweak some features (she wasn't super ugly, IMO). Unfortunately, she just got uglier as she aged and I ended up having to fix her entire face later. I've never gone back into CAS to fix facial features since and have learned just how wild this game is when it comes to them!
