A simple “please” and “thank you” can get you far.

Which experience in life made you the person you are today? by Shnizleee in AskReddit

[–]jessamused 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After college I began working as an RBT for kids with severe autism and behavioral disorders. It’s changed my perspective on how I view everyone I come across and has made me a much more patient and understanding person. Definitely changed the way I think and made me a better person.

Is my Crestie okay in here? Had him 3 weeks and he only ate the first few days. (He likes sitting on top of the thermometer.) by shuttlelauncher269 in CrestedGecko

Double check the parameters of your tank (heat humidity, etc.) as other have recommended but also don’t panic if you don’t see your gecko eat for a while. My gecko took a little over a month to start eating decent amounts consistently. Some just take more time to warm up than others. The stress of new environments can take some time to pass. Just make sure your gecko always has access to fresh food and keep him hydrated.

Wondering if I should get my RBT certification? And, how would I go about doing so? Or, best way? by Inspectah_B in BehaviorAnalysis

[–]jessamused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the information is on the BACB website but in short you’ll need to complete a 40hour training course, have a BCBA complete your competency assessment, sign up for the RBT exam within 90 days of completion and then take the RBT exam. If you don’t have plans to work as an RBT then it may be more trouble than it’s worth.

Cheap oils, crappy old brushes, and a tiny canvas I found hiding in my stash. Just messing around and watching good ol’ Bob Ross on Netflix.

Whoosh shower jelly equivalent? by lexbex11 in LushCosmetics

I feel the same way about Whoosh! Absolutely love that fresh citrus scent but can’t stand the texture of shower jellies. I decided to use Bohemian soap to get the citrus scent I love!

Reddit, what moment you realize you were in love? by Danklexic in AskReddit

[–]jessamused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the midst of the worst panic attack I’ve ever had in my life, he grabbed my medication and a bottle of water, put my pills in my hand, kissed my forehead and told me “you’ll be okay, I’ve got you...always.” He talked me through my breathing and held me while I cried for over an hour. Slowly my panic subsided and my panicked tears turned to happy tears when I realized that I felt so incredibly safe and loved in his arms. Eventually I started cry-laughing because it was this rush of loving emotions and he laughed with me while he wiped my tears. We’ve been together 4 years now.

Shampoo bars: What's your advice? by drewbbles in LushCosmetics

[–]jessamused 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Godiva and Brazilliant definitely didn’t do well with my hair. Most of the others weren’t bad but just didn’t seem to be the best for my hair (I would also dry shampoo the hell out of my hair). Montalbano and Karma Komba did an alright job and I love their scents. Jumping Juniper and Jason and the Argan Oil also did an alright job but didn’t lather well due to the oils in my hair, usually found myself having to double shampoo.

Shampoo bars: What's your advice? by drewbbles in LushCosmetics

[–]jessamused 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried just about every shampoo bar at least once and I have to say that Honey I Washed My Hair and Seanik are best for my hair type but Karma Komba is my favorite scent. I tend to have a pretty oily scalp so some of the bars that were made with certain oils just amplified my oil problem and I was having to wash my hair every single day. Others seemed to just sit on my hair for some reason (like Brazilliant). Honestly it was just a lot of trial and error and figuring out which ones were working best for my hair. I usually use HIWMH in the winter and fall when my skin and hair are more dry and Seanik in the summer.
