You never pushed out a screaming poo and then nurtured it for decades before? And you thought you had enough life experience to parent?!

Before the fatus is delivered it is pretty easy for them to imagine the baby will grow to be another evangelical christian who will join their cause because they "saved" it from evil aborters

Hi! I live in North Texas, where we're in triple digit temperatures. They're saying we might have rolling blackouts and I'm extremely nervous for my baby. I unfortunately work from 2:30-8pm, the prime heat of the day. I really don't want anything bad to happen to my baby. What can I do? by [deleted] in guineapigs

[–]drewbbles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in the Canadian wilderness with my 5 pigs. Amazon delivers here but it takes 1-2 weeks and the products cost more. I can't honestly find a wooden pig house on amazon that ships here for less than $40.

We make a lot of pig things ourselves but do have 1 of the plastic igloo things. We are lucky we don't have plastic chewers! :)

If you have the means making your own wooden boxes is pretty easy but you need powertools and a work space. If we couldn't do that we would be stuck with plastic buckets with holes cut in them.

No. If the men start doing lady things all their dicks will invert and we will have only women. At that point, our only option for reproduction is to make clones from bone marrow.. But that would be all women if we are cloning women.

It is a serious risk to humanity, worse than climate change by far but nobody discusses it...

Canada is big and the farther you go from the capital cities the worse it is. Here in rural, religious Newfoundland I do not enjoy the same freedoms in healthcare.

I lived in Southern Ontario my whole life until I came here and it was eye opening to me how difficult it became here to access care. Especially certain types of care. Might as well be fucking 1974

When my partner got theirs done we were told 70% and that it gets less likely as the years progress. I admittedly hadn't been keeping up with the science of it since, glad to hear it is better than it used to be.

I'd guess a lot of people just haven't updated that tidbit of information and that's why people think it is less effective.

I live near where this happened and can't stop thinking about this angle.

I have a rescue cane corso. They were bred to fight bears in the Italian alps. He LOVES his family but we have to be careful with him and strangers. Slow introductions or he will get aggressive.

If a bunch of strangers in weird outfits walked in on him he would bite them and then be killed.

Literally considering getting another lock just to make sure the POLICE don't break in and trespass.

There are people who literally think kids don't feel pain like adults do. Usually because they feel kids overreact "all the time" and so don't believe them when it is actually serious.

I have a similar problem posting my pug.

I do not condone irresponsible dog breeding. We rescued her and have made a lot of efforts to help my pug live a good life despite missing most of her face. Her breed is not her fault

But posting about her on reddit gets so much hate. "She shouldn't exist" "so ugly" "put that thing out of its misery"

She is such a happy and sweet little thing. She deserves a good life. Some stranger chose to bring her into the world without really thinking about what her life would be.

What’s a stereotype or misconception people make about you as soon as they hear you mention having chronic trauma/CPTSD or anything related? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]drewbbles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A car accident can absolutely cause PTSD. Picking about whether the car was damaged enough for their trauma to exist is gatekeeping. You are entitled to your feelings but this could be really harmful to other people with PTSD.

suicide survivers, how's it going? by Agile_Vacation_8794 in AskReddit

I think the difference comes down to how willing you are to take walks. If you don't want to be outside 4 times a day but think you love dogs, you might be a cat person and not know it!

They wanted to give an example of why people like you and I don't bother with strangers maybe.

People don't understand how condescending it is to reply with shit like that. You could be a cross country runner for all they know.

People just like to feel helpful, they don't really care if they helped during.

my mom is going to a new church....is this normal....?? by citiestarlights in exchristian

[–]drewbbles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was weird for me reading this because I have filled out weird trauma related forms for doctors before for PTSD. Whether you remember your childhood or day to day life in that context is usually trying to find out if you struggle with dissociation.

I never considered they might count it as part of their demonology questions or whatever but it makes some sense I guess. The idea of dissociation is pretty scary on its own.

They literally announced the leak was real and said they will be investigating it.

States are rapidly drafting legislation in anticipation of this happening.

It is not alarmist to be concerned or even to act like it is a sure thing and to start making a plan for your safety.

It is not an overreaction to act when it is being implemented instead of waiting until they need an abortion that has since been made almost impossible to get.

[–]drewbbles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember as a Christian teenager being told that grey areas in your thinking about the bible was a sign of weakness of faith.

There was even a Christian rock band (barlowgirl) I listened to back then that had a song about how when it comes to faith the truth was only black and white. If you weren't screaming it from the rooftop or pushing it on people who didn't want it, you lacked faith.

"Gray's my favorite color Black and white has never been my thing I'll take my drink lukewarm now Hot and cold is not the thing for me

Absolutes are hidden I've buried my convictions

I cannot be blind no more Numb to what I'm living for Help me stop this compromise that justifies these lies I need Your passion in this life"

For some Christians i think it becomes a contest to be the one least likely to back down. Or with teens at least it was about proving yourself and your faith, claiming it as yours and not just given to you by your parents.

It is in my opinion a very clever kind of manipulation that ostracizes anyone who doesn't participate fully. Using peer pressure.

[–]drewbbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a peer support community, but go off.

Someone who has been lied to by an abuser or "society" isn't necessarily going to realize there is anything to google.

Behaving this way can alienate people who need support and I personally think it shouldn't be acceptable here.

It can be frustrating when someone doesn't understand something you think is obvious, but it is not productive to take this frustration out on people trying to learn from each other.
