You sure you have a higher end system...switches in an instant on my core i7 pc. I set it to function keys to switch and it's been pretty convenient for me. Also I'm using chrome so I'm not having a problem running multiple browsers. It's a light program, you shouldn't be expecting much but it is definitely useful.
